Out of town surgeries and recovery time? Time between surgeries?

The surgeon I would like to see is in Texas.  Overall I am going to need a breast lift, arm lift, possibly an upper body lift, a lower body lift or TT, my mons, and my thighs!

I have read that the surgeon would need to split these surgeries up into two groups.

First of all, how long is the immediate recovery time?  How long would I need to stay in town post-op?

And how much time should there be between two major groups of surgeries?  3 months?  6 month?  A year??

I went the aggressive route; what I did in each phase is listed in my siggy.  The first phase was 5/28 and the second was 6/25.  This plan was something I discussed with my ps from the initial consult.  I wanted to do them as close together as possible if were comfortable and thought it would be safe for me.  My underlying motive was because of work consideration.  However, if he didn't feel it safe for me, then I would have followed his advice.

Every surgeon is going to have their own method of doing procedures.  Some will only do one at a time, when others will group a couple, and there are a few out there that will do everything all at once.  Yes, what you want can be done - but how far apart and even will they is up to the doctor.  If the ps you want is the one you absolutely want, then go with what they recommend.

Although time off from work was a huge reason why I wanted to go with an aggressive route, I also had every intention of delying the second surgery if after the first one I didn't feel I was ready.  My ps told me that he has had quite a few patients want to go the aggressive route, but only very few that actually went through with it.

As for recovery, that's an individual thing.  After my first round, I would say at week 3, I felt really good and started focusing on the the second phase.  The second phase was a little tougher with the thighs.  I went back to work after two weeks but can only work from home.  I can start air travel next week.

My ps was local to me; however, from what I've read about going out of town for any surgery, they want you nearby for at least two weeks.

Sorry that was so long.

I had a lbl, ba/bl in Houston last month. Houston is 4 hrs. away from us. We were supposed to stay 2 wks, but I was doing so well with recovery that I was released home after 11 days. My ps included the extended stay hotel package with my ps deal. It also came with $150 credit towards food and the hotel served a daily breakfast and dinner buffet.

I had my surgery in San Antonio, which is 5 hrs from my home. After my LBL I stayed for a little over a week and then drove back for my  checkups. With my recent BL/BA and lipo, I stayed for 4 days. I could have went home earlier but I wanted to relax  without the responibilies that were at home. Ill be driving up for my 4 week check on friday.  Which Texas doc are you using? :)
