breast implants 2 days post-op

I had breast implants placed under the muscle on Tuesday. One seems higher on my chest than the other, and they are both very firm. Is this normal? Will the size go down slightly as the swelling subsides? Right now, they are NOT very attractive.

Thank you in advance for any reassurance that this is normal!

Hi, Lynn!

I'm a little over 3 weeks out of having saline under the muscle. You are completely normal...i have some minor swelling in one and one has also dropped more than the other...this is completely normal. In fact, it can take up to 6 months to get the final results!

Every day is better than the last and I must say - I LOVE them!

Be happy.

Thank you for your reply! I feel very reassured. Right now they are swollen and "funny looking". I was starting to worry.

Congratulations - your knockers are knormal.

I'm 3 weeks post op with saline under the muscle.  I was told before surgery that they'd be high and that it can take up to 3 months for them to drop.

When I first saw them while standing, they implants sat high while the rest of the breast drooped.  Then I turned sideways and looked in the mirror - the shape resembled that of a beagle's head! (think Snoopy, well two Snoopys with nipples for noses).

During my first post op appt, my ps told me to start massaging them and he showed me how.  At first it was hard because it hurt a little.  But the more I did it, the easier it got.  Now, it's not uncommon for me to whip up my shirt and start massaging (at home of course).  DH just shakes his head.

I can now say that at this point, they are dropping nicely and I am beagling very little.

I love love love my breasts (oh yeah, and the massaging, also helps them get softer too and prevent the capsular constricture so it's important to do once you're told to do it).

Thank you for answering my questions! Yes, Snoopy-like is a very good description. I had silicon implants under the muscle, and after 3 months, my PS will do a crescent lift of the aereola/nipple.  I was getting concerned- thanks again.

In addition, I am still feeling quite "foggy" from the anesthesia and pain meds, so my typing might be a little off.

Im 3 weeks out and at first mine looked very weird too. Mine have dropped nicely but they still look square at the bottom and one boob is a little more swollen then the other. But like it was said before, they look better every day! Your welcome to see mine if you like.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, weird is a great word to describe how my breasts look. one is higher than the other and quite square. I have also noticed that I have swelling around my waist- did you experience this too? The way that they look now, it is hard to imagine that they will eventually look natural. Also, my nipples are completely numb, which is a little concerning.

I would very much like to see your photos, thank you. How can I access them.

My boobs are gorgeous!  I love them.  I had gummy bears (FDA trial) under the muscle plus a lift.  They looked like Frankenboobie for about a month.  One was twice the size as the other.  They were perfectly sized and shaped with 3 months.  3 years later, still beautiful.  If they DON'T look right after several months, then you might have a problem, but I think you are right on track.

Thank you for the reassurance! I am trying not to "freak out"! "Franken-boobie" is a good description! It has only been 4 days and I am trying to stay calm. One is higher than the other, they are both rather square, and seem to be very wide apart on my chest. I go back to the surgeon in 2 days, so hopefully she will assure me that this is normal!
