Drain Question

On a panniculectomy, did one drain more than the other? How long were your drains in?
Were both removed at the same time?

 Yes, on all of my surgeries one side has drained much more than the other. For my tummy tuck, I had the drains for 2 weeks and 3 days. One was removed first.

I'm going today for my follow up visit.  Not sure if they will remove the drains or a drain but pain pills in mouth prior to visit. LOL

Yep, each drain is on its own.  The amount they drain can vary and frequently one drain will get pulled before the other.  You want to keep track of how much each one is draining.  I kept a piece of paper and a pen in the bathroom where I emptied them.  For each drain I would list the date, time and how much I emptied.

Yes we've kept a log on it.  In fact, I did a spreadsheet with the info because the space on the sheet they gave me to record the info on, didn't have enough space.  I'm going today for my follow up.  Curious to see what lies "underneath" the bandages LOL

I had FDL tummy tuck on Monday and have 2 drains in.  One does drain more than the other.  He said he'd probably remove one of them on my follow-up visit next week, depending on how much drainage they're putting out.  The other one will stay in a little longer.
