The FLS won't give you the same results as the LBL.  The LBL lifts the outsides of your thighs and butt, and pulls down on some of your back skin.  If you have lots of loose upper back skin, you'll need an upper body lift.

Does your Kaiser PS have lots of experience with WLS patients?  Our skin is definitely different to work on than a little mommy makeover.

I'm very happy with my LBL.  Dr Sauceda was able to lipo my muffin top and I have no hanging skin above my navel.  I did just go back for an upper body lift.  Dr Sauceda's price for the LBL is $7200.  But, if you combine other procedures, the price goes down as you bundle.

You can take pics of your front, side, back, side and send to [email protected] and he'll get back to you with a quote.

I had both at the same time.  The FDL/ aka Anchor Cut TT and the LBL.  Dr Sauceda did both and gave me a great little butt augmentation.

The LBL addressed my butt and lower back, also my hips and side thigh area.  AND my FDL addressed the upper belly excess skin.  I am extremely pleased with my result.!

Oh my God!

I just had my pre-op yesteday and was told the IDENTICAL thing!!!!! I am having the  LBL fluer dis lis....and i feel exactly the same way...bait and sswitched!!

At the original consult when it was suggested to me my doctor held it in and said "see what a difference this will make?" and yes it surely did make a huge difference the way he was holding it...my silhouette was half and yesterday like you..he only pinched like an inch!!! I asked him why can't you take more and he said its because the skin is being removed in two directions and you can only stretch it so far. He didn't mention anything about having a over  standing but he didn't aske me to lie down either and now i am worried. I spill out all over the place when i lay down...my ribs jet out and its like a blanket of fatty skin pooling at my sides.. Same thign when i lay on my side can see my total hipbone but it a mile of flattened jello in front of me...God I hope he cant take it off but i dont see how if its only an inch or two and all in the belly area ...i am just not getting it!??

That is so strange you had the identical experience virtually the same day !!!  I was in the hotel bawling last night for the very same reason!  That and because i thought i heard him say my size will not change (yeah...WTF???) either!  I had 0 hrs sleep when i had the appointment so i thought i better email for clarity  before panicking and it was confirmed that he was speaking of my breasts not overall size...haha!  Right now I am hanging on to that thought that it will be worth it.

Darn...wish you were going first but it looks like its me..hahahah! I will let you know how it goes!   My surgery is this Monday....3 days!!  I am having  several proceedures all at once, lipo of  upper and lower flanks, buttock auto autoaugmentation, bilateral dermal suspension mastoplasty  he is taking some of my side roll and transferring it to my breasts andt shifting of my back moved to my butt too to fill it out a bit...musical chairs of sorts..lol

I am 44 years old,  5'11 and 210lbs...lost 130 over 8 years eating SUPER healthy (all food groups but low everything good ( ie. low fat, carbs and sugar but hey.. high protein)...lol). I had the lap band in 1998 but it was a disaster and I only lost 50lbs.  Have been obese since the age of 6 and so hoping i can finally have a normal body.....i just can't imagine it...now i feel like that dream is still never going to materialize after yesterdays appointment and now even worse is reading what your doctor told you (had hope with the 2 direction thing) about lying down!

I have to say i am very nervous and scared i am making a mistake...i am paying 20k for this, and viewing before/after pics some results are so dramatic while others its as tho you can barely tell a difference! I pray i am doing the right thing and pray the same for you.

I had a LBL, with no vertical incision.  I am NOT pleased with my results.  I have a great hourglass figure, but I had that BEFORE the procedure, so was advised I didnt really need the vertical incision, but I *may* have a bit of looseness still.  WELL- if a BIT is looking like I had absolutely nothing done, then he was right on the mark.  I have two rolls still- one above my belly button and one below.  I have a LOT of loose skin left, and it hangs when I bend, rolls when I sit and lots of jiggle when Im standing and even some overhang and puckering when standing and laying.  I did not lose a pant size, and have actually gained inches/thickness.  I AM NOT HAPPY and WILL be having it revised.  There is still a good at LEAST 6" of skin that can be pulled down and excised, still not requring the vertical incision.  HOWEVER, I was pulled WAY too tight on my backside, and with the auto-augmentation, pretty much the entire incision on my back opened up, and I went through 2 months of hell with open wounds, wound vac, uncontrolled pain and infection.  My incision line from my outer thighs all the way around my back is gnarly and will need scar revision surgeries now.  I feel like all the money ($17,000), pain, complications, losing my job, missing out on BIG family events and social life, the financial ruin it has put me in dealing with complications and the hell I went through was completely unworth it.  I pretty much need to go back in and have the whole damn thing redone, and I am LIVID about it...  In fact livid dosnt even begin to scrape the tip of the iceberg.  I was downright suicidal for a good period of time because of it all, until I got on anti-depressants, heavy dose anti-anxiety and got into therapy- but I still cry every time I see it or think about it, and my blood just boils.  Make sure you have a VERY good an realistic expectation of what these surgeries can/will do for YOU before you commit, and keep finding surgeons until you find one that can come close to, or match your expectations (within reason) and that they are HONEST about it with you, before going under the knife...

OMG, P.Poster, I am awfully sorry that this happened to you. My heart goes out to you. Maybe you should contact a malpractice attorney.

I can not message you since your profile is set as such. I surely would appreciate if you would confidentially message me the name of your PS so I do not use him/her.

Best of luck to you with a revision. Hang in there until then. And thanks for sharing your experience with us.

The overhang he's talking about are the dog ears you see people talk about. Because the incision doesn't go all the way around, there's extra skin where it ends. The LBL is all the way around, so no dog ears.

The rest of it depends on your body type and where you carry your weight. If you have a lot of loose skin above your belly button, the FDL is the only way to get rid of it.

I got the LBL and I'm super happy with the results. Flat tummy, butt pulled up, everything nice and tight.

And I'll second the thought that if you're not happy with what you heard yesterday, call the surgeon and ask some questions. This is not surgery to enter into lightly.

I had both FDL and LBL procedure done at the same time and I am thrilled  with the results.  It was 7 hours of surgery but well worth it.  They mark you when you are standing up so when they pull at your skin they are able to make sure they have the right amount of skin pulled forward.  You have to have a lot of faith and trust in your choice of surgeon other wise keep shopping.
