travel after LBL-stressing
I have about a three and a half hour drive to make it home after my surgery. Has anyone else done this? What position is the best? Should I lay in the back seat with pillows or recline in the front? I have three large pillows to take with me but I am stressing about how I am going to do this. Will I be able to sit on my backside without too much pain? Is it just bad getting up and down? How about a few stairs? I started packing today, any suggestions?
I would recline in the front. That will be the easiest way to get in and out. I had no problems sitting with my LBL. You may get sore from sitting for so long so I would plan a few breaks to get up and move around. There was some soreness getting up and down but that is from the muscle tightening. The good thing is that you will probably be sleeping on your way home. Just take a pain pill beforehand to help with the discomfort.

We had a four hour drive home after my lbl and ba/bl. I got an injection of Lovenox (sp?) to guard against blood clots just before we left. I reclined in the front seat with a pillow behind me part of the way and sat straight up part of the way without any problems.
We stopped a few times so I could move around, as per dr.'s instructions, and I took some steps up into a store slowly, but without any pain.
I had been kind of dreading it, but it was really an easy trip.
Best wishes!
