Breat Implant Recovery/Pain

Hello Everyone, I am having breast implant surgery on Tuesday and getting a little nervous. Can you please share with me what the recovery was like? My surgeon is putting implants under the muscle, using incisions under the breasts and in the folds (no lift at this time, but a crescent lift in about 3 months).

How much pain did you have? Did you need pain meds? What sort of bandage did you wake up with, and how long did you have to wear it? Did you have restrictions on activities? When could you wear a bra? How long before I can go dancing again? :)

Thank you in advance for any information!

I will 3 weeks out this Tuesday from BL/BA...I had saline under the muscle (was advised to use saline bc I'm so uneven in muscle and widths). Used a 475 cc implant filled to 525 cc.. I LOVE them--i am still sore but each day it gets a little better.

Had surgery at noon and was home by 5 pm..was wrapped up tight. Went into his office the next day and they put me in a surgical bra (which I have to wear until July 21st)...I didn't hurt per se but the pressure and soreness for the first 3-4 days was unreal.

I'm an exercise fanatic and I'm limited to lower body weights, walking, and elliprical w/no arms..and I can't run until at least mid-august

However, I would totally do it again and the diff in how u feel about ur body is amazing afterwards!! Congrats!!

Be happy.

I'm two weeks and two days post op from a BL/BA along with a medial thigh lift.

It took me about 3 or 4 days to get use to crossing my arms.  Your implants will be riding high when you first wake up.  Don't panic (and I'm not talking nipples on shoulders high - just high on the pecs).  Once your incisions are healed enough, your ps will tell you how to massage them to help drop them into place and keep the pocket open.  They're tender at first, but the more you massage, the better they feel.

The massaging also helps prevent capsular constrictor (sp) so it's important to do the massages.

I didn't get a weight limit restriction, but I know what I should lift and what I shouldn't.  Some movements, like slicing bread, will feel very weird at first.  A lot of things, if it doesn't feel right, then I have DH do.

The pain gets less and less each day - and at this point, there really isn't pain but weird twinges when flexing.

I haven't brought up the subject of working out yet, I will tomorrow.  My case is different because I had the thighs done at the same time.  I love working out as much as a lot of folks here, and my ps knows that so we'll discuss that tomorrow when I get my thigh drains removed.

I love my big girl boobs.

Thank you for your replies! Have you noticed any reduction in breast sensitivity?

Im 2.5 weeks out and at this point feeling pretty good. First 3 days were pretty rough. Now Im doing most things, just still not lifting or bending and not back to the gym. Im still wearing my plan old after surgery bra. Not sure when I get to wear pretty ones again :)  As far as breast sensitivity, one has more sensation then the other. It doesnt bother me though.

Okay, I just had to check.  So far, nothing more than what I think is typical recovery stuff.  I can feel my nipples, but it's more of dull sensation at this point.  It's better than it was at my first follow up.  So until I'm further out, I can't say if I permanently lost senstivity or not.
