How did you decide between BA and BL?
I'm having my surgery on Wednesday... but my doctor kind of decided for me. He told me that implants don't last a lifetime and that because I'm only 28 he was 100% sure that I would have problems with them in the long run... I have enough breast tissue left that he felt like he could do good things with it and said he didn't suggest implants.
I was a 38DD (rolled up) pre BL, I am a perky 36D now. I also no longer have to take pain meds for a degenerative disk issue in my neck. If I want to be a DD, I just put on a padded bra .
My surgeon would not do the lift and aug at the same time. I think they do that on purpose because they know many will not want the implants after all if you have a fair amount of breast tissue. I did not think I had any left and was shocked to see how well the girls came through.

A long breast fold and low nipple are reasons to do a lift, whereas a small or empty breast is a reason to add an implant.
Implants will tend to re-stretch a long breast, and I will not add an implant during the lift for that reason. Women with shorter breast folds will be OK with a simultaneous lift/augmentation.
Breast implants virtually insure that you will be having surgery again someday on your breasts, and while I find them a useful thing for many patients, I am often pleasantly surprised how good a lift only can look. I do not use an anchor scar technique as I feel it flattens the breast too much.

Maybe you can help me with my situation. I had a lap band 3 years ago and BR 1 year ago. I now have to have a revision to RNY due to acid reflux/hernia, as my lap band will not allow me to have the F. lap. and my bariatric dr. states this is the best method to treat my acid reflux (have tried all other treatment modalities) and not have me regain the weight I've lost. (I have lost 65 lbs. post surgery and still have 85 lbs. to lose).
I know I will continue to lose weight after the RNY and have concerns about what the size of my breasts will be after my weight loss following the RNY surgery. I guess I am worried that I will have no breasts to speak of. I am currently a 38 B/C and very happy with my size.
Can you tell me what I can expect so I can mentally prepare myself for this?
Thank you for any help you can give me.
