It looks like Monday

I talked to my ps' office this morning and my drain output is still too high.  So it looks like they're coming out Monday.  I'm not thrilled about it, but I understand that it is part of the process.

I had ace wraps around my knees so that I had something to which I could pin them.  Well, given our AC is still not fixed (the part came in yesterday afternoon and is being picked up today) and it's miserably hot in our home, the ace wraps were adding to my frustration.  So... last night, I found a pair of microfiber boy short panties that I was planning on pitching because they were too big, cut off the hemmed opening of the leg holes, and stitched them a bit smaller so that they'd fit securely at knee level.

Viola!  I don't have to wrap the ace wraps just for the sake of pinning the drains to them.  It's a little more comfortable so that helps.

Well, Monday at 9:30 EDT I'll be having my drains removed.

That stinks about the drains, but you sure got creative with the panties. Hope Monday comes quickly for you-

Very clever use of panties LOL

I can't believe you're suffering through this humongous heat wave without AC and still have your drains etc. I feel so bad for you. Our AC was on the fritz and it took them a week to figure it out, finally got fixed yesterday and I nearly died of heat, it was so miserable. I don't know how you are doing it as a post op with drains etc. I truly hope yours is fixed now.

I guess the way to look at your drain is that you're body is still draining and it's better, although annoying to have it drain outside the body it's better than having it collect in your body. Of course when I'm in your position with a drain I'm going to be cursing the drain and hoping it gets pulled early.

For most of the day, the heat was bearable.  I pretty much stayed in front of a fan.  During the late afternoon, DH & I would go out and do something for a couple hours someplace where there was AC.

Tomorrow it starts to cool down and the AC company will call us tomorrow to schedule time to put in the compressor.  Part of the problem with our AC is that it's an older unit so parts aren't easily stocked for it anymore.  Plus the insurance company is involved.

But the end is in sight.
