One year ago I had the vertical sleeve and have lost down to 135 pounds. Now I'm ready for a breast left/augmentation, tummy tuck and rear lift. I'm scheduled for the breast portion of the surgery on July 28th. I'm wondering how long I should take off work for that. I only have a week of vacation saved up....

Also, my boyfriend is wanting me to go ahead with all the procedures at the same time....how long would I need to take off for something like that?

My job is sedentary.

I just had a breast lift/reduction and was back to work at exactly 2 weeks.    If you are talking tummy tuck, you are looking at least 4 - 6 weeks.  I know my doctors paperwork said to allow at least 6 weeks for a tummy tuck/lift.

Everything I had done, include the dates, is in my siggy.

For the breasts, which was in phase 2, my ps told me I could be back to work in two weeks.  However, my job requires air travel and since I had thighs done at the same time, I can only return to work on Monday as long as I don't get on a plane.

I did things in two stages as that's what my ps recommends, in total I took off the day before the first surgery until, well this coming Monday - so about 6 weeks for everything.

I'm not recommending that is what you should do, I know how I recover and I also knew well enough that if either my surgeon or myself thought I wasn't ready, that we'd delay the second surgery.

I'm not going to make it sound like a cake walk (mmmmcakemmmm) it was mostly a smooth recovery process but there were some bumps.  I also have a retired DH who is able to be with me 24/7.

Talk to your surgeon, check with work if you have short term disability as a benefit (I did), and talk to your boyfriend to find out if he's willing to help you as much as you will need it.

I wanted that too but NO WAY ..My surgeon only does one thing at a time if a big job. I hate that but then he explained that keeping you under longer than 8 is dangerous and makes or could for lots of problems ..   I hate hate hate that he works alone as it looks like if there was 2 working on ya they could get it done ..
HO HUM the prive we pay for the AFTER THE LOSS.
To be honest though , the arms for me were so hard ,,  so was the TT ...No way could I have endured anything else at the same time , thighs were OMG.. But I will tell you this , each process was only a 10 day recovery as far as being able to go back to work .. Ten full work days I should say plus the weeknd and I made it ok ..
If you smoke that adds extra issues to recovery and even the surgery but especially the healing ..Thank goodness I quit many years ago..
Wishing you the best but sure thing the only one week wont work for you ,,,but then maybe your a lot tougher than me ...:)

Thank you all for your comments. I've decided to start with the breasts and do the TT at another time. That's a good idea about the short term disability. I'll check on that. And as far as the smoking...I'm on Chantix now so I should be "good to go" by surgery date! One tip I got from a friend who had the TT...she rented a lift chair for after surgery and said it really helped in those first couple of days afterwards.
