smelly bellybutton

It's been 1 month since my TT and BL and I am still wearing my compression garments all the time, but when I take it off there in an odor coming from my bellybutton. It doesn't look infected and I do wa**** when I take a shower, I don't shower daily, should I be worried?  Do you think it's just from wearing the compression garment? I always wear the compression garment over a t-shirt just so it won't irritate my skin.  Has anyone else had a smelly bellybutton before and what did you do about it?

Before my TT I used to get yeast infection in my belly button which would cause it to have an odor.   I used to use Nystatin powder, but you need a script for that.

I had my panni removed may 5th and I posted the same exact thing about a month ago LOL!!  My belly button is "new"..my PS made me a new one with one of my scars from the bypass and I noticed a weird smell..not an infection smell..just a weird smell.   I have been using shower to shower powder in the morning now.  I also did not see any signs of infection so I figure its from sweating.  Monica

I'd try showering once a day and soaping up your belly button real well.  Don't poke around, but make sure and suds over it and rinse it well.  It may be deeper than you first realize.  Mine was.  If it continues contact your surgeon.  Good luck, Loris

I made sure to use a q-tip to dry the inside of mine after a shower, It was on the tight side so I figured it wouldn't get dried out very well, couldn't get a finger or towel in it.
