Has this happened?
Okay, I'm going to be calling my ps once I get myself ready in case he tells me to go to the office now - but just to give me an idea of what to expect -
The drain in my right leg, once I empty it, compress it, and put the stopper in it immediately inflates. There doesn't seem to be a puncture in it and the stopper is in tightly.
I'm also experiencing a lot of leakage right now around the insertion site.
Right now, I have the drain compressed and tape around it.
Because I may not make sense when I call my dr. I'm going to do a quick video to email of what it's doing so he can see exactly what I'm saying.
Any ideas?

Before calling, I got my camera to do a quick video of what I was doing so I could send it to them, right... guess what, once I started the recorder, it stayed compressed.
I called anyway, and talked to them. The only thing I did differently before recording, was pushed the tube gently a little back into the insertion point.
The drs in surgery today and should call in for his messages when he's done. They'll relay the message then.
Grrrr

The office called me back once; the dr talked to them in between surgeries. He has two more surgeries today and they'll call me back at the end of the day. Basically, they told me to be ready to go when they call in case he needs me in the office. It takes us about 30-40 minutes to get to his office.
It's good to know that it's a matter of taking out the drain. If that's the case, then my concern is that there is still a lot of fluid and that the out put for this leg has been really high. So much so that I was in his office yesterday about it.
Thanks for putting my mind at ease a bit.

So here's the update.
In between cases my ps called me back. He said that the girls in office were leaving early but he still needed to see me today. The more I described what was going on since I last spoke to the office nurse, the more adament he was about seeing me today.
DH drives me over there to meet him at 5 or so. He meets us in the office lobby and we walk up with him to his office and he tells us that he told another patient to stop by too. He rooms us and takes care of the other patient first but told me what I needed to do to prep for him, which was basically take my pants off and drape myself with the paper blanket. I also pull the the leg rest out and unwrap my leg.
Once he comes in, he told me that the drain tube slipped out too far, even though the stitiching is still in place. He cleans up the tube and the area on my leg, gives me an injection of numbing stuff. When he gives me the injection, I automatically reach for my DH's hand and start squeezing. It pinched plus it burned so it was an uncomfortable hurting rather than just a typical injection. Plus the skin was a bit tender with the tugging of the drain.
So - he pushes the tube back in, adds a stitch plus a secondary securtiy stitch. Puts a piece of tegrabond around it. Add some gauze around the tube to pick up any extra leakage. Gives me new ace wraps and I rewrap while he writes a script for an antibiotic. I see him again on Tuesday.
I felt awful that I had to have him come back to the office but he was very understanding and said that it wasn't a problem. I know I shouldn't feel bad for what I paid but still - that was the third time I was in his office this week. It was a fluke thing more or less.
Everything turned out okay, and I should be good until Tuesday when I see him again for my regular follow up.

Hi Lisa, sorry to hear you are having this problem but glad to hear the Dr. was there for you.. He does seem to be good to let you come in like that.. hope all is going better after all that.. Even tho you said it was a fluke, it has to be scarey to go thru this...I hate the thought of drains but know they are a necessary evil. I really do not like the pulling them out, it is just so weird... Take care and hope it goes better...
