just made that big step got appointment
well after a lot of thought I called for an appointment for my first consult, going with Dr. Silvia Rotemberg to see what she has to say..called medicare and my insurance and they said had to wait to see what the Dr. says...would not say if any thing would be covered..now I have to wait till July 28 I would like to thank all that have posted and shared your experience, I only hope I can do as good as you all have done...I hope my age and all will not be a factor, looking forward to getting this done...I am a little nervous about more surgery but need it.

I've seen my first plastic surgeon - have two more appointments set up. It is an interesting experience - I hope that your surgeon feels insurance will pay for what you need. My first surgeon found a hernia which will help pay for some stuff- and of course it needs to be repaired so I will definitely be having surgery. Good luck with yours.
I stumbled across this sight researching my plastic surgeon who also happens to be Dr. Rothemberg from the Cleveland Clinic. I had an appt with her yesterday (July 14th) at 3pm. When I arrived, I was notified that she had emergency surgery and was running 2.5 hrs behind. I did not want to wait that long so they rescheduled an appt. My new appt is also on July 28th at 8:30am. I have not had any significant weight loss but my thighs have lost all their elasticity and I am extremely self conscious about them. I won't wear shorts out in public unless they are bermuda shorts. I want to have a thigh lift. I was in a very serious car wreck 4 yrs ago. I shattered my pelvis and now have a titanium plate the whole width of my pelvis. I constantly get pressure sores on my tailbone as a direct result of a shattered pelvis. I have a special cushion which I must carry around all the time. I have to constantly watch my activities and movements. It seems to me that someone should be able to build up the area around my tailbone. It is very hard....feels like bone or the plate. I'm hoping Dr. Rothemberg might be able to take fat from my thigh and put it on my tailbone. I don't know if this is possible but I'm going to have a consult with her. I'm planning on having a thigh lift even if nothing can be done about my recurring pressure sore. I'm glad to have found someone that chose the same plastic surgeon as I did.
