Liposuction and WLS -- do they go together?

I had lipo with my tummy tuck on my upper ab and sides - it made me wrinkly and I don't think it was worth it - now I've gained back a little and I have little pockets of fat here and there - not smooth at all.

I knew someone that had lipo to get rid of some of the excess fat around her hips and midsection, she looked great after surgery but regained weight after a few months later. It was recommended that she lose weight firat and then come in for sculpting with lipo.

I am definitely not against it and would like to perhaps have it done later after WLS around my tummy.  It seems like it is something they do along with a mini tummy tuck.  Hope this helps...

If it makes you happy, do it.  My body is already a disaster area.  I could never afford more surgery.  Even if I could, I don't need the pain and recovery issues. It isn't even a tiny consideration for me.

Don't know anyone personally that has had lipo before or after surgery but recently heard a few plastic surgeons speak on the topic.  Seems to be a reasonable option AFTER wls and reaching goal.  Not everyone is a good candidate.  Key is finding the right MD - very important to do your homework and not rush into anything.  Can be dangerous if not done properly.  Have name of a good MD in NJ if anyone interested.

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

I have had multiple surgeries to have all my redundant skin removed.  I lost all the weight I needed to lose so there wasn't any fat that needed to be lipoed (is that a word?) out.  I do know people who did not lose all the fat and they didn't like the end results.

I feel like why ru****do the work you have to do to get where you want to be.....then maintain it for a while.....when press forward with removing the redundant skin.

My plastic surgeon was awesome and I would recommend here to anyone.

Do you know anyone who had lipo after WLS but before more major plastic surgery?

I knew I needed a tummy tuck, but I wanted to wait until I was done having babies before getting it done.     I was so unhappy with my muffin top.   I couldn't wear any pants that fit at all or my fat roll would stick so far out.   I decided to have lipo in June of 09 with the intentions of trying to get pregnant a year or so later.   What I didn't know is that I was already pregnant when I had the lipo (only 3 weeks along).   About the time the swelling when down from surgery I started showing from the pregnancy.

By the time my baby was 3 weeks old I already weighed over 20 pounds less than I did before getting pregnant.    My muffin top is much smaller now.   Is it from losing 20 more pounds or the lipo?   I'm not for sure.

So I've experienced lipo after WLS but before major surgery.   I just don't know what my results were lol.
