Liposuction and WLS -- do they go together?

Do you know anyone who had lipo before WLS? No
Do you know anyone who had lipo after WLS but before more major plastic surgery? No
Any experience with lipo after major plastic surgery? no

"World at large"  Was there some obvious hidden meaning in that?  LOL.  I knew a few patients who had liposuction before their weight loss surgery and before they gained so much weight that made them a candidate for weight loss surgery.  The way in which they gained the weight I would not wish on anywhere.  Where there had been fat cells before the lipo, there were millions more and tons of bumps everywhere there weren't.  The weight was gained in places that were never fat before and tripled in the places there was fat prior to the lipo.

Lipo and WLS should go hand in hand. I had to have some lipo done prior to having my elephant ears removed from under my arms. I can visual see some areas of my body where plastic surgery may not be requied but a little lipo could make that area look smoother and less lumpy. If you can afford it go for it. I'm all about making me into the best me that I can become.

Do you know anyone who had lipo before WLS?  I don't know anyone who has had lipo before surgery.  I thought about it but that wouldn't have solved my weight problem so I had the RNY.

Do you know anyone who had lipo after WLS but before more major plastic surgery?   I Don't know anyone who has had lipo after WLS but before plastics.  I wondered about lipo on my neck when I went to the plastic surgeon but that really wasn't an option due to having so much skin hanging on my neck.

Any experience with lipo after major plastic surgery?  No but again I'm thinking about having some done but have to come up with the money.  I think there's some pockets of fat that could be contoured with lipo but the money and the fact that it scares me keep me from checking it out.

I had a small amount of lipo done as part of my circumferential body lift.  There has been several stories done where I live about laser lipo suction.   No recovery time, no anesthesia, you walk yourself in have the procedure and walk out again.  There are no special garments needed.  Might be worth checking into.  It is also far less expensive.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be much help either - I don't know anyone who has had lipo at all.  I haven't looked into plastics as yet, but I would probably assune that lipo would be a part of that process after the weight loss.

My neice had 5 plastic surgery procedures at one time after WLS and I remember her saying the Dr. did lipo on her. I guess it is up to the Dr. and our choices. I had lipo on the back and inner thigh after RNY and ery near goal weight.  I was not losing weight evenly and I was left with large pouches of fat that was not going away on its own. 

A doctor performed Tumescent/Vasar.  The procedure was done with me awake and only took about 3-4 hours total, including prep and wrapping me up afterwards.  The next 4 days were the most miserable and painful in my entire life.  I hurt more than any surgery I'd ever had.  I stayed medicated and could barely move without pain flooding through my entire body. 

The pockets we went after are completely gone and after two years no sign of returning.  I do have extra baggy skin as a result, but it was a trade off.  My hope is to one day do plastics.  In the meantime, I look fantastic in clothes and I only wear shorts around the house.  I'm hoping capris don't go out of style before I can save enough for a lower body lift and thigh lift.

 Do you know anyone who had lipo before WLS?    I really have never heard of anyone getting lipo before their WLS although I am sure that there are people out there that have had that done.

Any experience with lipo after major plastic surgery?   When I had my LBL over 3 yrs. go....my fat attached to the back of the skin in my rib area had grown to my ribcage.    When my PS went to cut that skin loose he could not lipo that area at the time so I had to go back a year later and have that area lipoed to get rid of my muffin top.
