Give a shout out to your surgeon...
There are some terrific surgeons out there and I want to start with mine, Dr. John LoMonaco.
I went to my PCP yesterday. I saw the PA who helped me so much in gathering all I needed for plastics. When I showed her my lbl, her mouth dropped open and she shouted, "It's beautiful!" She got very envious when I told her I had drains for only seven days. She had a tummy tuck several years ago and she had her drains for five weeks.
I am four weeks out. When she figured that out, she was amazed because I was moving around so well, exercising, etc. She said when she was four weeks out, she hurt so bad she couldn't even go to work and was practically immobile from the pain, and she only had a tummy tuck with no muscle repair.
She said without even meeting my surgeon that she could tell he was top notch just by looking at me. All the nurses had to come take a look, too, and they were oohing and ahhing as well.
I am so grateful I put myself in the hands of someone as gifted as Dr. Lo.
What about you? Let's give credit where credit is due-
He's a phenominal surgeon. He guided me throughout the whole process from consult to recovery. The first round of procedures was done at the end of May. My recovery went by uneventful. One month later I was in the OR again for the second round.
The OR team was the same as it was for the first round and they were all excited to see me again because they rarely get to see patients afterward so soon that they remember them.
I had different nurses and aides on the floor for my overnight stay and when they'd help me out of bed to go to the bathroom, whoever was behind me would see my scar from the LBL and they'd ask me what I had done and tell me how good it looked. They were surprised that it healed so nicely and that I was strong enough go through another intense round of surgery so soon.
This is a great thread!
Very talented and very nice. Love all my results. Everyone is very impressed by his work and the scars that are left. Can hardly see them. I saw the PA for my RNY surgeon and he was so excited to see the scars since they do skin removal if the go in and do a hernia repair. He couldn't believe the results from my surgeries. My PS is in the same office as my RNY so he had to comment to the nurse and receptionist for the PS when I was leaving.
Hope anyone else in the W. MI area looks to him in the future for their PS needs. I also hope that he is around to do them since he was diagnosed w/ stage 4 colon cancer right around the time I had my last procedure. He is very young and has 3 young kids so I'm praying that everything works out for him. From what I hear he's going thru his surgeries and is doing well for now. Hope it keeps up. Hate to see him go thru this when he's given me so much by doing such a great job w/ my surgeries.

I love him! He and his staff are wonderful and I can't say enough about how thrilled I am with my results! The whole experience has been amazing. I had a LBL and Brachio on 3/29/10 and went back for BL/Thoracoplasty and thigh lift on 6/1/10. I simply love my new body and I recommend Dr. Mazaheri for anyone who is post weight loss. He is an expert in dealing with post weight loss patients and it definately shows in his work. Not to mention, he is just a really great guy. He's sweet and kind and you can tell that he really cares about his patients. I'm proud to call him my surgeon and my friend.
