Lower Body Lift
I am thinking of having a lower body lift because I have so much skin around my thighs and uppere legs. Has anybody had this done and if so, how did it come out and how are you doing now. What all do they do to you.
I live in Charlotte/Concord NC area if anybody has used a Plastic Surgeon from there, i would love to hear your comments and who did your procedure. Also I was wondering how much for the surgeon for a lower body lift. I have Medicare due to disability and they said they would pay the hospital bill, but I will have to pay the surgeon myself and I am trying to get a ball park figure.

You can check my siggy for the work I had done, whi*****luded a LBL. I think you might be talking about an LBL and a thigh lift.
I love my results. I have pictures posted - just send me a friend request if you want to see them.
The LBL I did as part of phase 1 the thigh lift as phase 2. I also chose to do them one month apart which is aggressive and not for everyone. I'm pretty much recovered fully from the phase one procedures. I just had the phase 2 this past Friday. I can say that the thighs are more uncomfortable, and slightly more painful than the LBL.
As for cost, I can't do steps yet and all of that paper work was filed away awhile ago. Somewhere online there is a cost estimator for plastic surgery based on your area which was pretty accurate for us.

I had my thighs done in Dec and am having LBL in three weeks. I am surprised to hear you say the thighs were more uncomfortable. I figured the other way around. I had very minimal pain with my thighs and was back to normal in about three weeks but was told to expect six weeks on the LBL. That gives me hope.
I was expecting the absolute worst with the LBL. I think why I felt the LBL was easier was how I got up and down. I'd use my DH to counter balance me and push with my legs. Whereas with the thighs, I can't do that, I have to pull with my arms using him as a counter balance.
Also the incisions for my thighs I have one on the inside of the groin and an inscision that goes down to the knee. So finding just the right sitting position, laying position, etc. Was a little more challengling. I'm also sort of doing the Frankenstein walk wiht both legs wrapped and with drains. Today while waiting for my DH to bring the car up to the hospital entrance from my first follow up, I stopped a toddler in mid-toddler babble with the sight of my drains. lol

I had the LBL and I think it came out great. The incisions have healed well and are placed perfectly in my opinion. The thigh lift was definitely more painful but not unbearable. The first couple of days are always the worst but pain pills take care of that. It's just that there is a little more pressure in that area because you are basically sitting on the incisions when they are in the crease line of your groin like mine were. Now you can't even see those because they disappear in the natural crease of my groin and hairline. My energy level came back much quicker with my thigh lift than my LBL. I felt fine and was able to move around great but just tired quicker. The hanging skin on my belly was one of my worst areas so I think the LBL gave me the most dramatic results.

I did not like the skin on my thighs, but the skin on my belly was much worse. We opted for the LBL with the doc saying it would take care of some of the issues around the thighs - umm, it did? Well, not that I can see. Did a great job on the stomach area, but if you're concerned about your thighs and upper legs, then you need to have the surgery for your thighs and upper legs.

I think it would help to clarify if you are talking about inner or outer thighs. I just had an LBL and it made a great improvement in my outer thighs. I had big saddlebags just below my buttocks on the outer side and I now have a nice curve. Now my inner thighs still hang in wrinkles, that's a different surgery and usually done separately from the LBL, just because it's too much cutting and pulling in the same area.
My surgeon charged me $8,000 for his services, another $3000 for the hospital and ansethesia. I had a circumfrential LBL that included ab tightening and autoaugmentation of the butt.

Hey, neighbor! I'm in Concord. I'm having Dr. Adam Ravin do a fleur-de-lis panniculectomy on July 12. There are only 2 plastic surgeons in Concord -- Dr. Ravin and Dr. Klein. Both operate at CMC-Northeast in Concord.
Make sure you have Dr. Bauman document allllll your skin issues -- that's what I've done for the past 3 years and my PCP has, as well, and Dr. Ravin submitted that to Medcost (my insurance company) and within 3 weeks of my initial consult, I was approved.
My sister had Dr. Ravin do her breast reduction/mastopexy and she is SUPER happy with her results.
