Muscle tightening
I had a LBL with anchor cut on April 16th of this year. I had belly muscles tightened also. I am still sore in the stomach muscle area. When I sneeze or cough it is pretty painful can anyone tell me how long this lasts. I know everyone is different but just a general ideal wondering if something might not be just right? I have pretty good pain tolerance,I only took the pain med for less than a week. Please feel free to comment. Thanks.
Hi there- I'm almost 4 wks out from my lbl. I had the muscle repair, also. I was cleared to start exercising at week 2 for 10 min. of cardio. I'm up to 30 min. a day now of cardio, and I go at it hard, although I still don't hop or jump like I did presurgery. I feel like my heart rate is just now starting to get up where I want it to be for exercise. My dr. also says I can't do any core work (due to the muscle repair) for 6 months. That includes abs, planks, and push-ups.
Have you been able to start your exercising yet? If so, have you found anything that particularly painful to do yet?

I had mine April 16th I have been walking but that is all. It hurts me really bad to cough or heaven for bid I sneeze it hurts so bad. I have a hard time getting out of bed by myself sometimes getting out of a chair is really bad too. I don't feel like I am much of a wimp on most things but this has sure shut me down. Do you feel like you have a string tied around your hips and it is pulled tight? just wondering thanks for the reply
Yes, there is a tightness around my hips, but I seem not to be noticing it as much this week. I have had some sneezing spells that I thought would be the end of me. That's been the worst for me so far. Listen to your body. If you're still hurting, you don't want to pu**** and make it worse. Walking is good as it keeps you moving. Hope your pain lessens soon!
I had my LBL on April 22nd. He did ab muscle tightening and butt auto-augmentation. My ab muscles are still a little tender to touch and some days are worse than others, especially if I've been very active. When they get too sore I try to take it easy for a few days. You DO sound like you are in a lot more pain than I am. I see you are a RNY'er so you aren't supposed to take any NSAIDs but you might want to ask your PS about trying them for a few days. My PS told me to take them when the stitch up near my breastbone was so tender.
I DO still grab my belly if I sneeze but it's not real bad pain, just more of an ouch and then it's gone.
As to a string around the hips, I feel like I'm wearing a butt pack on my backside but I figure that's the auto-aug. Also, my hip muscles are very tender and the skin is very tight and feels kind of funny but I think that's normal.
PS: I still swell every day by the afternoon and notice that the numb areas get much larger when the swelling is up. When it's down I have almost all of my feeling beck, just not under the belly button area, but when I'm swollen my butt and thigh skin go numb too.
