switching from compression to ACE

I had brachioplasty on Tuesday.  I have my first post-op appointment with the PS tomorrow.  I'm worried about how he is going to get these things back on me without hurting me.  When did you switch from the compression garment to the ACE bandages?
Thanks
L.

My ps only used ace wraps for compression on my arms.  I'm having my thighs and breasts done tomorrow and he already told me that I'll have ace wraps on my thighs for compression.

Good luck tomorrow (or should I say today).

I used the ace wraps on my arms the entire time. They were just way more comfortable for me than the sleeves.

I can see how that would be and I'm thinking the same thing.  I think I will stop by the pharmacy tomorrow before my appointment and see if he will go for using that instead.
Thanks

I went from ace bandages to compression garments.  My surgeon wasn't as particular as long as I had some type of good compression on it.  He was going to put the garment on but it was too small so we stuck with the ace wraps.Once the swellng was down it was easier to take the garments off and on by myself.  Plus I was going back to work and it was easy to conceal under my tops.

So are these ACE bandages special?  Do they have a padding?  Or are they just plain ordinary tensor bandages?
Thanks,
L.

I can't speak for the others, but mine were regular ace bandages.  Before leaving the hospital, they gave me 4 extra wraps so that I could wash and change them.  I got another pair when I went to my ps for a follow up.

You at least want a spare pair so you can wash them.

Thanks Lisa.  I guess if I buy a pair then, it won't be a waste of money even if the PS does supply me with a pair.
