How to kick start an appetite?

Since my surgery three weeks ago, I don't have much of an appetite. I thought at first it was just a reaction to surgery, and have been forcing protein drinks down. Instead of getting better, I'm now almost nauseous at just the thought of having to eat.

I don't know if it's because my tummy's tighter or what, but It's starting to be a real battle to get stuff down. I've lost 11 lbs. since surgery, and I had 7 lbs. of skin removed, so it's still a net loss.

Anyone else go through this? What helped you?

Enjoy it while it lasts, LOL!!! I lost my appetite, too, for awhile, but it did come back. I think it may be from the pain meds...or check with your Dr.!! Hang in there, it's sure worth it!!

After my tummy tuck it felt like my stomach was being squeezed every time I ate. I noticed that I'd fill up so much faster and eating just didn't appeal to me. It didn't last. I was about 4 weeks or so out from the tuimmy tuck and my appetite started to return and I didn't feel so stuffed all the time. I think the muscle tightening is what made me feel that way and in time things started to feel more normal.

I had LBL with muscle tightening in November.  I think I felt that way but don't quite remember.  I just had brachioplasty (arms) and I certainly feel that way - could be an effect of the anesthetic, antibiotic or pain med.  Don't know but I don't like it.  I've tried popsicles, yogurt, lettuce a few things like that and still nothing - not hungry and don't care to eat - very nauseous.  Hope it gets better for both of us real soon.
