First time posting here - WLS patient considering plastics

Hi All

I had weight loss surgery three years ago. I'm now starting to research plastic surgery. Most specifically I'm looking to get a tummy tuck.

About a year and a half ago I had a consultation with a reputable plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck and breast lift and implant. I have since decided that I'd prefer to just have the tummy tuck.

I'm looking into surgeons in Mexico - something I never thought I would do. I am really having trouble with all my sagging tummy skin and I'm thinking 2011 might be the year.

Would  you share your Mexican plastic surgery experience with me? What you had done and when. Who did you use? Would you do it again if you had the chance?

I am going to Dr. Sauceda next Tuesday with surgery on Wednesday. I had RNY 6/30/08 and will have anchor cut tummy tuck , large thigh lift, and a large arm lift with lipo on all areas. I am like you I would have never guessed to be going to Mexico. I have been on this blog for Dr. Sauceda for about 6 months and decided that this is the best choice to make. I went for consultations in the states and asked for the same work but it was 10,000 more and i would have to do the surgeries in phases.

I will let you know how my time is while I am there. I will be getting on here regularly. I am going by myself so the computer will be my communication to the rest of the world.

Same story, never in a million years did I think I would have even considered plastics.  But here I am  2 1/2 years out from RNY and 9 weeks from plastics.  I would get a couple more local consults and learn as much as you can.  Follow Dr. Sauceda's board and there are links at the top where people have blogs.  Just read through all the pages and you will see just about everything addressed. 
Going to Mexico for 1 procedure may not be worth it unless your close by.  The huge savings is from multiple procedures then there is a big discount.  He uses an epidural and twilight anesthesia.  My surgery was 10 hours.  You have to stay several days there at the hotel and the nurse and doctor visit daily.  Good luck on you new journey.  Toni
