Recovery blues!

Argh! I want my old life back! I'm now 8 days out and cabin fever is really setting in.

I thought I would be done with my drains by now, but I am still getting 50cc/day out of one of them. Two others have less than 30cc/day and I had one removed on Monday. I have one drain in each knee and one in my left thigh. The drain in my left knee is leaking at the entrance site quite a bit. The one in my right knee (the 50cc one) is really bothering me. It's not infected, but it's placed weirdly and the tube isn't long enough. It keeps popping open and spilling everywhere if I don't catch it. I have an appointment tomorrow and I hope he will remove two of the drains.

I am staying with my parents and they are having their kitchen remodeled. Demolition starts Monday. We will have no air conditioning. My mom wants to take me to stay at my grandparents' for a week or so while they have that done - but it's 4 hours away. I don't have any problem with stopping frequently to move around or anything, but I was hoping to have my drains out by then. Hopefully my doctor will give me the go-ahead.

Anyhow, thank you for listening to my troubles!

hang in there! Although I didn't have an issues with my drains I too, have cabin fever.  I am used to working 2 jobs, going to school and chasing after my 2 year old.  I am going stir crazy!  Hopefully some of those drains will be removed for you tomorrow, but keep in mind they are in for a reason and are doing what they are supposed to. Keep in mind the end result! Good luck!

I just got back from my appointment, and they didn't remove any drains! Augh! But the good news is that, along with my stitches, they are going to remove them on Monday morning so that I can go on my trip. Also, he thinks I have an infection - so it's more antibiotics for me.

Make sure you take your probiotics to avoid yeast infections!  ;)
