Ok so now I have a lump. It is in my lower incision line. Its hard to explain the size. I can feel it, its not hot and doesnt hurt. Kinda soft to the touch. I see my PS on Friday. Anyone else have this? What do they do for it?

It could be a small seroma forming or scar tissue. Your PS will be able to tell you.  Once you are healed you should start massaging your incisions anyway to help break up the scar tissue. That also helps the scars as well. Some lumps may feel like little marbles but they will eventually go away as you massage them.

Thanks. I see her friday. I have been having my stomach fill with fluid so i was wondering if one had anything to do with the other. I have had plenty of surguries and this doesnt feel like scar tissue. She had to aspirate my somach last friday and will have to do it again this friday.

Does the lump feel squishy?  If so, it's probably a seroma.  If it is a seroma, just be aware that during the course of bending it may start to leak through the incision.  It's okay though, it'll be more of a cloudy liquid - if you had drains, it's the liquid that comes out in the drains.  There'll be a good bit of fluid initially.  I've always been told to just keep a guaze 4x4 or something over it to catch the fluid and protect the clothing.

If it does start leaking, just give your doctor a quick call to see if they want to see you sooner and/or how they recommend to keep it clean.

It doesnt really feel squishy...It feels like it is smaller at times too. Hell, I dont know. My fluid is back in my stomach so Im guessing that will be drained again on Friday. I feel like I have more aches and pains in my tummy, maybe its just me.

Aloha-

Differential for a lump along your incison line:
Seroma, abscess, suture reaction, hernia, scar tissue, other foreign material, pocketed fluid from your abdominal cavity ( which would mean hernia or leaking through the internal incision line).

Can I ask why your abdominal cavity is producing fluid ( is that what you mean by your "stomach" producing fluid that your surgeon has to aspitrate?)? Or is it truly your stomach that the doctor is aspirating? Did you have an abdmonial or umbilical hernia repaired or caused at the time opf your WLS? ( Not the same as a hiatal hernia).

Lori,

Yes the fluid is in my lower abdomen. There was not alot but enough to make me uncomfortable so she said if I wanted she would aspirate it, so thats what I had her do. It seems that it is collecting there again. Now I am having some pain in the middle of my tummy kinda by the belly button. Not sure if it is normal healing pains or if this is all the same issue. No i did not have a hernia. The lump is hardly visable, its on my bikini line on the right side. Matter of fact I didnt notice it until I was laying down. It's almost on the hip, very strange. I called her office but she is in surgery. I see her tomorrow for my 6 week check up (almost 6 weeks). I will let you guys know what happens. Thanks for the info.

Aloha Raina-
I think it's odd to be effusing fluid into your abdomen if you didn't have any pre plastics. Especially if there is enough to aspirate, and enough to cause you discomfort. She will probably want to diagnose why you are producing fluid...PM me if you want to let me know what she finds- XOXOLori

I have fluid because I had  a TT 5 1/2 weeks ago, when the drains were removed my body did not absorb the fluid...therefore it bothered me and I had it aspirated. From what I have read on here it is not uncommon in the least.

I had a ping pong ball size lump in my elbow area where my brachioplasty incision ended.  I massaged the area and so did the lymphatic massage person.  My doctor kept telling me to wait and watch and see if it went down and now at 3 months out, it is gone!  He said it was most likely scar tissue or a seroma.  I'm glad it went away on it's own because he was planning on surgically removing it.
