??? Incision & Staples

I had an anchor TT and was just wondering where everyone's horizontal incisions ended up.  My friend had his TT a few weeks before I did and his incision is up a lot higher than mine.  Mine almost ends up in the crease between my abdomen and thighs.  I tried on a super low rise binkini bottom yesterday for the heck of it and my incision did not show at all (except for the vertical incision obviously). I was just wondering if everyone else's incision was that low.  I think maybe my friend's was so high because he is a guy and obviously not wearing low cut bikinis lol.  I also had a question about staples/sutures.  My horizontal incision is stapled and the vertical is stiched above my belly button.  I dont get them removed until this Friday and the skin is so very irritated around them.  I will be 20 days post op on Friday.  Does that seem like a long time to have them in?? Thanks

I haven't had that done.  Just had extended arm lift but hopefully the lbl is in my near future.  Sounds like your surgeon did a great job making your incision low.  It is the little things like this that separates the good ones from the really good ones isn't it.
Continued good luck to you.

I had glue so I didn't have to worry about staples or surtures on the surface. As far as the incision line goes, I have seen LOTS of incisions done high mainly on women but then that's who you mostly see post. I even saw one that was almost at the waist level! I think when the incision is too high it pulls the mons area way up and makes the pubic area too high making it look unnatural in my opinion. I don't know what the reason is behind that or their school of thoughts on that. I just know that I would have been unhappy with my results if that had happened to me. I think for the most part, a surgeon does try to take it as low as possible. At least a good surgeon.

I also had glue on the surface.  If the staples are causing the skin around them to be irritated, a quick call the surgeon is order.

As for the incision, mine is low too.  After seeing some women post about an incision too high and causing the mons (my06ds is right about that) to be up higher, I asked my surgeon about where my incision would be and where would my mons start.  He started with "I've seen pictures of that and I have no idea why they do that."

So I'm guessing, for women at least, the rule of thumb is to go low.  Unless 1) there is a very good reason not to or 2) the surgeon is not very good.

For men, it could be a different rule of thumb.  There is a guy that just posted his before/after ps pictures here. Check where his incision is.

My doctor had us bring what type of panty we wanted to wear and that is where he marked us for the tt incision, (so that the scar would be covered by the panties). Mine is pretty well hidden no matter what type of panty I put on.  I am deffinatly happy my mons isn't at my belly button!!!  I had hundreds of stitches, no staples at all.  Steri strips were put over the stitches right next to each other .  I have been stapled before and they took them out way before 20 days I was still in the hopsital when they removed them the 6th day I think it was.  No wonder your skin is angry!!  But if they weren't ready to come out they weren't ready, you don't want anything coming open thats for sure.  Good luck with your healing, Toni
