Thank you all and I have a date!
I wanted to thank everyone for sharing your experience and pictures. All the information has been very helpful and I feel that I am better prepared because of all of your generous sharing and words of advice.
I am have a br/bl and an extended arm lift done on June 23rd. I am a nervous wreck and just want to get it over with already. The surgeon estimates that I will be an A or B cup after my breasts are done and he thinks he will be able to reduce my arms by 5-7 inches. The incisions will start at my elbow and go through my armpit and down my sides to my bra line. I can't wait to see the results and I can't imagine what it will be like to have small breasts and arms. I just hope that I have realistic expectations.
I will be off from work for 4 weeks and based on most people's experiences I think it will be enough recovery time.
Again thank you to all those who so generously shared and I hope to put up before and after pics once I get the befores from my surgeon's office. Any other words of advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Linda,
Nice to see someone from Hawaii on the board, seems like we are few and far between.
My surgeon is Dr Shim Ching at Queens. I liked him and his staff and I had talked to some of his patients who also had weight loss surgery. I am a nervous wreck and can't wait to get it over with so I can stop stressing.
Your date is so close! You must be excited. Who is your surgeon?
I can't wait to see my arms and just hope that I am brave enough to wear sun dresses and sleeveless tops. I always admire the women I see here wearing the cute spaghetti strap sun dresses and hope that I can do that too someday.
Good luck on your surgery and I hope it is uneventful and everything goes smoothly for you.

Good for you! I am now 10 days out from arm lift. Pain is less but the arm pit area is well its the pits! I did find that if I wear a wife beater type tee shirt (like in my pictures) and then put kotex pads in the center of the teeshirt arm area, folded half on inside half on outside that it is just enough to keep my arm pit area open a tad so that it feels better.
Hey Viki,
I can't believe it's next week. The whole process was really quick which I appreciate because I would be an even bigger nervous wreck if I had more time to think about it.
I am super excited about breasts. Every time I look at my current bras (which I call over the shoulder boulder holders****ep thinking I can't wait until I can wear small cute bras. No more industrial strength bras, no more pain in my shoulders, neck and back. I can't wait to be able to buy regular bras!
And smaller arms, no more wings flapping when I exercise. A chance for my bicep tendon to finally heal and actually buying clothes that fit. Not to mention the possibility of sleeveless tops and cute sun dresses.
Take care Viki and keep us posted on your plastics.

Congratulations!
The sharing of pictures is very helpful and I too appreciate everyone who has shared their pictures; that's why I opted to share mine as well. It's one thing to see before and after pictures on a surgeon's website, but those are carefully selected and there's no detail as to what their recovery was like. It's a start but seeing progess pictures from the people here really helps.
From now until your surgery, make a list of things that you would like to get done and keep yourself occupied with busy work. Keeping your mind off the surgery (and it's hard) helps keep you sane.
As for your expectations, the only thing I would say is that as long as you're not expecting perfection you'll be fine. Perfection is illusive and rare. As long as you are confident in your surgeon's skills you can expect to have relief from pain and smaller, better shaped arms.
My incision was went from the elbow, into the arm pit and down maybe about 2 inches but not to the bra band line. The only place I had stitches was in the arm pit (the rest of my incisions were glued) and once the stitches came out, it was much better.
Good luck!

Thanks Lisa. I agree about the sharing, it has made the process a little easier. And I am grateful to everyone who has been so generous in sharing pictures and experiences.
You are so right about keeping busy, it does help. I am working right up until the day before surgery 11 hours a day so that I don't have a whole lot of time to stress about it.
Thanks for the reassurance about my expectations. I have a hard time imagining what smaller arms will look like. I have had large arms since high school so small arms are a distant memory. I will be happy if they are smaller than they are now and the pain is lessened.
Take care,
Ole
