Post-Op Question (TT, BA, Arm Lift)

I am on post-op day # 22 from an extended tt, BA, arm lift & lots of lipo. I am still waking up stiff & sore. When does this end? I have to go back to work in a week (suits & high heels & pressure) and today - I just feel like going back to bed.

I know I am getting better each day - able to reach further, walk more - do more ~ I'm just wondering if there is a magical day (like day # 23 lol) that you wake up & feel close to normal.

I am still sleeping on my back - which I hate - maybe I'm not getting "good" rest.

Thanks for the support!!

I finally discovered that I can sleep best in our guest room.  I'm able to turn on my side with no pain to take pressure off my back.  Once I discovered that earlier this week, I started getting better sleep and no lie - once I started sleeping better, I started feeling significantly less pain.  Today I was able to stretch my arms enough for a decent yawn & stretch.

Have you tried turning on your side?  Maybe put a pillow behind your back for support.

Hope you feel better soon and are able to get better rest.

No - I have not tried to sleep on my side but I think I will. This back sleeping ia not for me!!

What is weird - is that I want to stretch so bad!! In fact, in bed, I wake up & I am stretching - just a little - then I'll get a twinge of pain & rememebr I had an arm lift &  a tt.

Oh to be able to stretch my arms WAAAAY over my head!!

Thanks!!

When you're on your back, are your legs elevated?  That takes some of the pressure of the lower back too.

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I hope you are feeling better soon!!  I'm hope to be back to work after 3 weeks with a LBL and thigh lift.  Not sure if I'll feel up to it or not.

Those heels sound dangerous though with all the work you've done.  Too bad you couldn't just wear sweats huh??!!

Yeah - the swetas would be great!!

I think I could work - I just feel stiff - my arms especially. He took 4 inches off of each arm & they feel very stiff & sore.

You really had a lot done so I am not surprised you are sore, especially with lipo. I was tired for about 6 weeks but each week got better. As soon as I thought I was back to normal, I'd feel exhausted. It's going to take some time so just rest as much as you can. You will probably be really tired and ready for a nap when you get home. Considering everything you had done, you sound pretty normal!

Everyone is different... I recall feeling the same way.  I got so sick of sleeping in the recliner, but I couldn't sleep any other way... are you still taking pain meds? I found that I could just function better once I stopped taking the pain meds (about day 5 post op).

I quit taking pain meds on or about day 3. Now I just take Alleve at night.

I am sleeping in bed - pillow under my knees - but I just feel so stiff. My tummy is numb & my DH says I am standing up straight - I feel like I am crunched - just a little.

I REALLY want to get back to yoga - but that is the last thing I get to do ~ not until week 6 & then just gentle poses.
