Finally slept decently!
I had my first surgery on 5/28. While I was on pain meds, I would only sleep a couple hours at a time, be up for a couple hours and never get fully rested. Once of the pain meds, it was the same thing. The recliner was just not comfortable anymore.
When the ps gave me the okay to lay flat, I tried sleeping in our bed; however, it's a high bed and although I could get in easy enough, getting out was a problem and by the time I'd get out, I was wide awake. So back to the recliner and hopefully to fall asleep watching TV.
The night before, I decided to sleep on the couch part of the sectional instead of the recliner part. And I was able to sleep on my side and I slept a little better. So last night, DH convinced me to sleep on the guest bed, which is a twin bed and regular height. This morning I woke up at 4:30 and so excited that I got a decent night sleep and felt so well rested.

I'm so happy for you! I can totally sympathize. After my lbl I had the same trouble sleeping. I just couldn't stay comfortable for more that 2-3 hrs at a time. Once I was able to get into my bed and sleep a good length of time, my healing really took off and I started recovering much faster. I pray the same for you. Here's to many, many more good night sleeps!

Thank you God! I will always be grateful for the change you have made in me! All glory is Yours!
I slept in my lift recliner for 2 weeks after my LBL. It took a while but I got used to it after those first few sleepless nights and I was ecstatic when I went 5 or 6 hours straight. After my last round I couldn't sleep in my recliner for the life of me. Go figure. Since I had my thighs and arms done I couldn't sleep in my bed which is about a mile high anyway. I ended up on my couch after a few days and got the best sleep there. It wasn't too high or too soft where I would sink either. I almost didn't even want to go back to my bed for fear of not sleeping well. It's funny because after each surgery, the first 2 nights back in bed weren't good ones for some reason.
