Multiple Surgeries together with Dr. Katzen
Hi Everyone!
In my consultation with Dr. Katzen, he advised he does surgeries in 2 series. Upper and lower body. For instance Tummy Tuck with thigh lift or arm lift with breast augmentation. Not a tummy tuck with an arm lift because it's harder on mobilily. (understandable)
My question, has any prior patients of Dr. Katzen have upper and lower body surgeries combined? I'm looking to have a tummy tuck, arm lift and breast reduction. BUT, I want them done all at the same time since I'm coming from out of town and don't want to have to travel and take the time off 2x. I did already ask the office and am waiting for an answer back but in the mean time, wanted to ask anyone on here of their experiences.
Thanks for any responses!!

Hi Viki,
Dr. Katzen is my wonderful surgeon and I had my surgeries done in two stages (upper first and then 4 months later). I had multiple procedures with each surgery and I would have not wanted to do everything at once, but I understand your concerns about travel/time off work. However, I would definitely think twice before having all the procedures done at one visit.... you'll need your arms to help get you up and down after a lower lift. Dr. Katzen has had thousands of patients and I would listen carefully to his advise.

There are surgerons who do everything all at once and have great results. There are surgeons who do multiple procedures with a max time under anesthesia and positioning issues. Then there are surgeons who only do one procedure at a time.
My surgeon is doing mine to two stages. I had the LBL, butt lift and arm lift on 5/28 and had no problems with recovery or mobility. Then again, my DH is retired and able to be with me 24/7. For some that don't have that kind of assistance, the mobility could be more of an issue. The rest I'm having done on 6/25.
My surgeon advised against the LBL and thigh lift being done together because of the position my legs have to be in for the best results. So that made sense to me.
What it comes down to is that every physician is going to have their own preference for doing procedures, and your best bet is to listen to their advice as it's going to be in the best interest of your health.
