Changes After TT
I have read quite a few places that most people do not lose weight after a TT and a lot of people do not go down a pant size. Does anyone know why? Is this true? What is everyone's experiences? I had over 5 lbs of skin and tissue removed during my TT last week and strangely am down 10# since. I am obviously swollen and can't get my old pants on but I am hoping I will go down a pant size after all is said and done.
I was up about 4 lbs before my TT I'm a stress eater so I put on a few before surgery but a week after surgery I was down about 5 lbs but just like you I am swollen and can't fit into anything that isn't stretchy besides putting on a pair of jeans doesn't sound appealing at all. This numbness in my hips is driving me nuts. Does anyone know when the numbness in the hips go away? Or when I will feel normal again. right now I'm having a little bit of buyers remorse. I know that will go away once I feel better but right now wishing I only had the breast lift reduction it's not bothering me as much.
I'm only half way through my ps process. I'm just now able to try on some of my more non-stretch pre surgery clothes. I also still have some swelling too. What I've noticed is that my clothes hang differently. It's not that they're loose, but when I sit there's more bunching up in the groin area. It's hard to explain but my DH notices it too.
I took measurements before surgery and the biggest drops have been in my hips and my arms. My waist is only a slight decrease.
My weight is a weird story. I managed to stay between 156 and 160 for 11 months. This past May my body revolted and the day before surgery I was 172. The only change in my eating was that I was eating more red meat because I'm anemic and needed to make sure my iron levels were good. I had a lot of stress with work, training/completing a half marathon, but none of it did I turn into excessive eating. I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm back down to 159.

You are too early out to be worrying about what your final weight will be or trying on clothes for that matter. The swelling will take a few weeks to subside enough to be able to wear your normal clothes. I had 10 pounds removed and wasn't able to button up my preop pants for at least 3 weeks after my surgery. Everything was loose but the waist part. By 6 weeks I was down almost 2 sizes and had to buy new pants to wear back to work. Your body is still healing so give it time. PS is major surgery. Not everyone sees their weight drop off right away. Our body retains fluid in different areas as well so some people swell more in the tummy area and others in their hips an thighs. For some it can be 6 months to a year to see final results. It amazes me that drs don't share this with their patients. So many people think they are abnormal or something is wrong because they just don't know. Just give it time. I know, easier said than done!

Yesterday, just for fun, I decided to try on a few size 6 jeans. They fit! I had my LBL on February 5th. I thought I was going to be stuck at a size 8 because my waist seemed thicker. However, I think it does just take time.

I'm 6 weeks post LBL with TT/ab tightening and butt augmentation. I think it's going to vary depending on each person. Some will say they've gone into smaller sizes, some won't.
Most of my excess was on my upper thighs - basically my butt slid off and I ended up with horrible saddlebags. I measured my waist just before surgery and it was 29". Most days I'm still 29" though on days when the swelling is nearly gone I might measure 27-28". It's not enough to go into the next smaller size, but my current size 4's fit much better.
For the first 4-5 weeks I couldn't wear my pre-surgery clothes. Not because they didn't fit but they tended to rub the incision too much and I hurt. So I stayed with baggy/stretchy clothes. Now I'm back into my normal stuff.
