Smelly new belly button?

I know this is odd, but I had my panni removed 4 weeks ago today..my PS make me a new belly button..I noticed this morning it smells as of today..I take a daily shower and dry it with a qtip...I can't see all in there, but it looks healed to me...any ideas??? Thanks, Monica

I would have your Dr. look at it. I has an infection in my belly button after a hernia repair. One of the permanate stitches worked it's way through the skin a became infected.  It started smelling bad, if it wasn't for the smell I would have never noticed an infection.

My PS recommended Dial ANTIBACTERIAL body wash....to aid any infection issues.  At first there was a slight discharge, but now at 6 weeks...no issues.  Smell....might indicate an infection as someone else mentioned.  Any pain?  That might be a clue, too.  GOOD LUCK
