When will the numbness go away?
I had a TT and BL on June 3rd. When will I get feeling back to my butt. I'm itchy but I'm numb too wanting to get the feeling back so I can actually scratch my itch, it's driving me alittle nuts and I'm just bored to death and tired of having everyone do things for me. They're all tired of me too. Thanks for letting me rant alittle.

It could take awhile for the numbness to go away. I had my ACL replaced in 9/09 and while the numbness is considerly less, there is still some right around the incision line.
It's all part of the surgical process. Had I not been aware of the numbness thing before now, I would have been really freaked out by it.

I was told by my surgeon that while the numbness will decrease over time, some people have it PERMANENTLY! I am 8 weeks post op and am still quite numb; it has gotten slighly better. But I agree, the itchy/hurts/numb feeling all at once is FREAKY.
You're not even a week out.....be patient with yourself. I know the feeling of not wanting to be a burden; but you give a lot to your family (I'm sure); let them give you a little TLC for a while longer.
GOOD LUCK.

I'm almost 7 weeks out and still very numb on my thighs and butt and some spots on my stomach. Yes, the itching drives me nuts too. I'm afraid to scratch because I can't feel it and I don't wan to accidentally break the skin, so I just rub the area that's itching. LOL, I walk around rubbing my butt. Someday I'm going to forget and do it in front of a co-worker or my boss.
The funny thing is, my butt is numb and I didn't have anything done to my butt. Tomorrow I see the Dr for my post op appt, I really hope he takes the drains out of at least my breast area because they are constently pulling and hurting and burning, just hope to get those out tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't hurt to get them removed.
I'm two years PO yesterday from my LBL and I'm still numb in large areas. I still have the feeling of itches that cannot be scratched. Many of us are quite numb, while it is annoying at times, I wouldn't take back the excess skin.
I have numbness in my lower belly from about 1/2 way from belly button to pubic one across my entire front, then around to both sides, my entire left hip from hip bone to knee, parts of my butt, then on the hip area on the right. On my thigh lift, it is numb along the incision line there, and that is almost 18 months old.
The numbess can vary, but it does seem like those who feel the tingling and itching early have a better chance of regaining some feeling. Hopefully, you will get the feeling back, but you will also adjust to the numb areas too.
