hardness on incision....normal?
Hi! I had my tummy tuck on May 4th and already battling a second infection. Had to have some dead tissue removed and now have to pack the site. I've noticed some hardness on my tummy area by the incision and now this worries me too. Is some hardening typical, or is this something else I need to worry about? I would imagine someone else on here has had the same problems. If you're one of those people, I'd appreciate whatever info you can offer. I'm starting to wonder if I'm ever gonna heal!

M whole LBL was a hard ridge and still is in places. I'm 9 weeks out from that surgery and just had a breast lift/thoracoplasty/full thigh lift. I can already feel the hardness forming under my new thigh and groin incisions. I believe this is normal. It does soften up over time. Just to be sure, ask your surgeon on your next visit or give his office a cll tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Thanks Raina! I can't wait to get my incision healed and be done with the stupid infections. Hopefully I won't have another one. 2's enough in one month. Glad I don't have to worry about the hardness, makes me feel alot better. You're not too far out from your surgery, hope you have good luck and good healing!
Massaging the scars will definitely help loosen up the scar tissue which is part of what you're feeling. Ask your doctor if it it's okay but I'm surprised he hasn't told you to start doing that as long as it doesn't hurt.
