Does anyone know tricks to get Medica-MN to pay?

HI,

I have Medica through my employer in MN and need to get at least my stomach and breast lifted. Has anyone dealt with them and had success? They seem pretty crappy since my ded is 2,400-though have met almost all of it. I prev had BCBS of MN and they paid for my VBG and were great paying for stuff.

I had my VBG done over 4 yrs ago and the extra skin is hurting my back and causing some rashes. I have gone to my doctor several times and he has given me meds(which I have used) and now seeing a chiro for my back. One doctor rec I get a lift, he has left the practice now and this new doc seems blah and unwilling to even help. Do, I tell him I am thinking about these procedures?

So, any advice would be very helpful and I am thankful for any feed back. It's way to expensive to cover on my own and it is interfering with my quality of life. Sometimes I just want to get some suspenders to lift it all up and cry:(

It never hurts to mention it to your doctor.

As for the insurance part, it's not a matter of finding a way to "get them to pay."  It's more about what is documented in the policy that they will cover.  Some insurance policies (like mine) do not cover plastics period - unless it is due to breast reconstruction after breast cancer.

So read your policy.

Good luck.
