Getting Married 4 Months After a LBL
Well that's a million dollar question! That answer is so individual. I think you'll be fine but I would definitely wear some type of compression or shapeware type garment if you are still experiencing swelling at that time. I personally swelled a lot during that time but to be honest I don't think anyone noticed but me so to everyone else it wasn't obvious. There are plenty of people who don't swell very long so maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones! I'm not sure what type of dress you plan to wear (tight fitting or loose) but I'm sure you will look great in it!

I'm going to agree with my06 - recovery time is very individual. There are things here that people said they experienced in recovery that I have not and vice versa.
I'm less than a week out from my first round of surgeries, but I have had a total hysterectomy in 2008. For several months past that I still had some minor swelling if I was extremely active. What I would recommend you do is contact your surgeon's office and ask them that if a few months after your surgery you still experience swelling, what will help reduce it/minimize it, etc.
Explain the situation if you want to - more than likely they've heared it before. KWIM? So once you have what they recommend you can make sure that during that day if you need something like an ice compress - you have it. I would think that if you do swell, the reception is going to be where it happens; if they have a bridal sweet make sure you can get a bit of time away to go tend to your self.
Not sure what kind of dress you're planning - but since you've lost a bunch of weight, just had plastic surgery, I'm guessing it's going to be pretty darn sexy - you might want to plan for a change of clothes if your dress starts to get too uncomfortable, something that coordinates with your wedding colors, etc. You can also have your DH change so he's comfortable too - heck for that matter, have your entire bridal party change into matching outfits.
Congratulations on the surgery and best wishes on the wedding.

Hi Ginger,
I agree with Melissa. I am 6 months out from LBL. There are days when you could bounce a quarter off of my lower abdomen, then there are days (especially after exercise) when I feel like you could use me for a floatation device. But, I don't think anyone really notices but me. My clothes don't feel extra tight. I just feel the bloat. It's not even as bad as menstrual bloat. It's probably just that we are so much more in tune with our tighter bodies now that every bit of swelling is noticed. I'd be willing to bet that you will be FINE!
