Loose Skin and Saggy Butt...HELP!!

I am 3 years out from my surgery and have been stable at my current weight for almost a year and a half.  I feel very lucky to have been able to surpass my goal weight and maintain the weight loss and I'm grateful for my DS.  For the most part, I'm pleased with the way my body looks.  I have a small amount of loose skin on my belly.  Even when I'm wearing a bikini, you really can't notice unless I pull at it.  And the amount of loose skin on my arms, I think I can live with.  But the amount of loose, flappy skin on my thighs is crazy.  My legs would literally be half their current size if I had the skin removed.  It makes wearing shorts or shorter skirts virtually impossible.  And my butt is totally deflated with these round pockets of loose skin at the bottom of my butt.  I caught a view of my backside in a pair of jeans the other day and it looks like I have two small water balloons under my buttocks! YUCK!!  To imagine that in a bathing suit totally grosses me out!

So what do I need??  A butt lift?  A thigh lift? BOTH?

I really need some advice so I can begin the process of considering plastics.

Your best bet is to schedule some consultations with plastic surgeons and discuss with them what you're unhappy with and what they'll recommend.  There may be fees for the consults but it will also give you an idea of who you want and what the fees are.

I would start going on consults to see what the surgeons suggest for fixing your problem areas.  Some offer free consultations but if you are planning on trying to get insurance coverage you might want to see who is in network with your insurance.

Oh and FYI University of Maryland Plastic Surgery Resident Training program has a reduced fee option.  http://www.umm.edu/plasticsurgery/discount_cosmetic_surgery. htm

Yup! I know my next step is a consult with a Plastic Surgeon, but I was just wondering what other people have done and how it might have turned out for them!

Has anybody had the saggy butt, loose leg thing and opted for plastics?  If so, how did it go? How do you like the results?

I had an inner thigh lift and I love it. I had the loose skin at the tops of my thighs. I have pictures on my profile. I did not have anything done to my back side. My butt is a little saggy but it wasn't enough for my surgeon to suggest a procedure for me. It's not the butt of a 20 yr old. but I can live with it.

I think if both of those areas really bother you then you will most likely love having that skin gone and things being lifted and tighter. Plastic surgery has been a wonderful experience for me. I have had no regrets with any of the procedures I have had done.

I had the saggy butt and saggy inner thighs. The lower body lift will definitely help the saggy butt a lot but depending on how bad it is, it may not make it perfectly smooth. I had the LBL and the inner thigh lift and I have just a little bit of sag left at the very bottom. A surgeon can only lift the skin in the butt so far which is why I say there may be a tiny bit of sag left. I had the butt auto augmentation which helped give my butt a nice curve too. I know some surgeons can go back and actually cut the skin off the very bottom of your butt with the incision at the butt crease. I'm not worried about it since it is not that bad so I would never consider doing it. I'm not that young anymore anyway and I bet lots of normal sized women have some type of sag in their butts too! I see PS as a way of transforming my body to being more normal in appearance, not perfection.

I'm currently recovering from a LBL with auto-augmentation of the butt, and ab. muscle tightening. I looked like exactly what you are describing. THe skin on my butt sagged so much that I had wrinkles on my butt. Under the cheeks was another set of butt lumps - I told everyone that my butt slid off. I could grab these lumps with two hand. My inner thighs also had lots of wrinkles from all the loose skin.

My PS said I should get the LBL (cut all the way around). He removed 9 inches of skin from my back but saved the tissue under the skin to augment my butt area. He tapered the cut as he came around to about 4 inches off the front.

My butt is much firmer, but it is also very flat, even with all the auto-augmentation. THe lumps at the top of my outer thighs are completely gone and my upper thighs/hips are very smooth and tight. I even can see some improvement in my inner thighs, though still baggy, there's much less wrinkles. I'm very happy with the results. Cost: $11,200.
