Hey Ms. Shell! :)
I can only speak for the arms, since I haven't had the full thigh lift. But, that will be a piece of cake for you compared to the LBL. The thing with the arms is that, at least for me, it wasn't painful at all.. just frustrating not being able to move them much. The first 24 hours were the worst, as I needed help with everything from eating (couldn't lift the fork), washing my face, brushing my teeth, etc. I needed help washing my hair for the first week, but by 8 days out, I was doing everthing on my own with the help of a grabber (it's a contraption that will help you pick up things you drop on the floor...get one!). I don't think this surgery will wipe you out, from an energy perspective, as your previous one.
All that said, the challenge with doing arms and legs at the same time is you can't compensate for weakness in one with the other. I think after the first week, your arms will be strong enough to get you up and around.
GOOD LUCK, my friend! I'm a week out from my LBL revisions and lipo and doing well. I thought I was only having the front side revised, but during surgery, he decided to open up and revise the whole LBL so he could take off more...yikes. I have more healing to do now than planned, but recovery is easier this time around. I'm back to work today (dragging, but getting by).
I'll keep you in my thoughts for a wonderful and easy surgery! Hugs,
Michelle

I can speak to the arms too. The pain is worst the first 24 hours, but gradually it gets easier to move them. I had my surgery on Friday and had the drains removed today from the arms. The drains are more annoying than anything else. My surgeon took some skin off the sides of the chest right where my bra band hits. So I have scars that go from my inner eblow, up to my arm pit and down to the side of my breast. The most bothersome area is in the pit area where I have two stitched area****ting against each other.
As for the thighs, that's part of my second round of surgeries - so I'll be looking for advice from you in a couple weeks.
Think about it this way - it was a struggle to lose weight and you did it. It's not an easy process regardless of how you did it. Therefore, if you can handle your internal struggles with weight loss and the pressure from the outside world - then you know what, you're pretty damn strong.
Good luck!

wishing you the best on your upcoming surgery....
I had arms, thighs and upper back done 10 weeks ago and by far, the thighs were the worst. It is very challenging trying to manuever the first few days or so because you can't use your arms or legs. Going to the bathroom was a challenge as well. Be sure and get you a freshette, female urinal, raised toilet seat, funnel or something to assist you. I have the long incisions from my knees all the way up and around my groin so sitting/squatting on the toilet was difficult.
The arms were a breeze, just sore in the armpits. My suggestion is to load up on proteins before, during and after surgery to aid in the healing.
I've just started having lots of swelling in my legs, feet and only 1 arm within the last few weeks or so. Probably because I'm back at work and moving around a lot.
Be patient and good luck.
