I am having a Panniculectomy on June 7th and I am trying to see from others what their outcome and experiences were on this surgery. I would love to also see photos if you have any cause at this point Im a little nervous on what my outcome is going to be cause I want to have a flat stomach soooo bad but not sure if you end up with those results with a Panniculectomy but my PS did say he was going to do a MR also so Im sure that will help also..

Hi Christina,

I just had my panni done 8 days ago..and all that area is flat but I didn't get to have the top part of my stomach done ..so it's still protutes out it bothers me...but hey the flab hanging below is all gone underwear looks great and bathingsuit bottoms..so I am Thankful..

I also had a Breast reduction very different than the panni...painful..

The panni wasn't bad at all the only thng I hate are the drains we have in placed in over the mons area...I can't have them removed for another 8 days i think..well good luck you'll do great..
Best Wishes..Despinasdream

Thank you so much for your reply, thats what Im afraid of is the upper part of the abdomen still being big. I did find out from my PS that he will be tightening the muscles cause he said that he does that as part of the procedure so Im hoping that will make a big difference. I have to ask do you feel you made a good decision of having the surgery ? Also do you think you have gone down or will go down pant sizes?

Dear Christina, Hope your doing well! You dont know me my name is cathy from harrisburg ,pennsyvania i got my panniculectomy on July12th  It was very painfull only because i cant use pain medicines much because i get soooo constipated. Cant go at all when i take oain meds. My drains were in for i month. I finally got to sleep on my sides after 5 weeks.  I never heard of this procedure but i am so thankful i checked. I got a fabulous surgeon the best around my area. Hes 1 1/2 hours away from me. He did Extreme makeover girls on TV. Hes no# 1. Please wtrite me how your doing? My somach i dont get those horrible rashes no longer. Im not super flat b ut i still feel pretty again! Can wear real ladies tops instead of wearing mens xxl tee shirts to cover my 15 lb pannus I just got removed!  I called it my alien baby.I carried it for 12 years!! Yuk !! All gone. Worth all the pain!!!! Cathy

I think when I had mine directly after I was on a pain pump and than by the next morning pain pills and went home with pain meds for at least the next 4=5 weeks.

They never leave you on it very long and it's pretty painful so you'll need it. Stay on top of your pain and you'll do great.

Sorry I had forgotten to ask also if they sent you home with an adominal binder or if you had to buy one or you just didnt need one? I have seen alot of people that swear that a binder is needed as it helps with the healing together of the incision and the swelling and the overall feeling of being held together lol..

I had a LBL on Friday, along with my arms and sides.  If you want to see pictures of those, send me a friend request.

Keep in mind, some of the pictures are not suitable for work - if you work in an open environment.
