I will have a tummy tuck this Friday and I'm absolutely panicked and stressed. Some advice please.

Thank you

It perfectly normal to feel a little apprehensive and nervous about surgery.  My best advice is to stay busy for the next few days.  However, I also suggest that you try to determine if what you are feeling is nervous anticipation or something a little more severe.  If it is truly panic then try to identify if there is some specific aspect of the surgery that is causing your concern.  If it is something in particular, then please discuss this with your surgeon.  Your surgeon will be able to explain the procedure as well as the safeguards he/she has in place to ensure a safe and successful surgery.

I know the feeling.  It's normal.  I found every possible distraction I could to keep my mind focused on other things.  After dinner on Thursday, I spent having a little silent melt down.  The drive to the hospital on Friday morning, I was so stressed I was in tears.  It wasn't until I started going through the pre op stuff and talking to the anesthesologist and my surgeon that I started to calm down and get excited again.

I would recommend finding a safe distraction - whether it's work, house work, a bunch of clean up tasks that you've been meaning to do, cooking and freezing meals to have ready to go when you're back home, etc.

Good luck!

Thanks

Two years ago I had my band and no problem. In March I had a breast reduction/lift and everything went very well. This time I'm so afraid about the pain, the swelling and the possible complications. I don't know why.
