Hello everybody! Quick question....for those of you that was approve via your health insurance for Plastics, what type of things did you report and who did you report them to and for how long? I have had cronic back spasms and have been told I needed to lose weight. Well I have lost quite a bit of weight and I am still having back spasms.

I know before my surgery I was told that it could be from the c sections scar tissue pulling my back out of alignment as well as the extra pounds. I would like to see if I can get my insurance to cover some of this. I currently have Anthem Blue Cross HMO

Thanks everyone

You need to get the issues documented in your medical records.  That might be your PCP or your orthopedist.  You need to have the notes reflect that it is the excess skin that is causing or exacerbating the problem.  But the first step is to determine if your policy covers plastic (reconstructive) surgery.  You might also want to take a look at the articles that Dr. Lomonaco has written on getting insurance coverage.  http://www.drlomonaco.com/index.shtml  Look under the tab for patient resources.
