What is the longest someone has had drains after a LBL?  My surg wants them to be draining less then 25ml  in 24 hr period.  I am at 5 weeks and still drain about 40-80 per day.  At the start he said three weeks was common but can go up to 6 weeks.  At the rate my are going I think it could end up longer.  As far as my activity level , it is low. Every thing is healing well.  I can not shower with them in.  Most of the swelling seems to be down and I can't wait to try on clothes.

I had one drain taken out at 4 weeks and the other at 6 weeks.  I thought I would go insane if they were in longer!  Like you,  I couldn't wait to try on some smaller pants.
Hang in there, I'm sure they will be out soon!

MY PS said the more movement....the longer the drainage would remain high.  Once I parked and limited my movement.....I turned the corner and they came out.  I was also told to keep feel elevated, not hanging down to keep fluids and blood moving....good luck..........................

I had my last one for 6 weeks. Kinda fudged the numbers just a bit to get it out because I couldn't stand it any more. I had to be less than 30 cc's in 24 hours. It was coming down and probably about 35 cc's in 24 hours but it was becoming so painful and tiresome b/c I'd been back to work for 2 weeks. I don't recommend doing it because you can possibly get a seroma but if it's really close and you're in pain because of it, I'll just say I did fine.
