How long after LBL can you start to walk for exercise?  Like just 4mph?

For me, I started taking walks at the park with my husband and two of my adults sons at about a week and a half post op LBL/brachioplasty. It was a short, slow walk that first day. I built up slowly the length and distance I would go. I've walked 5 days a week since.  It seemed to help with my overall swelling. Once I started taking walks my swelling seemed to be less. I would still swell (and still do a little, especially if I'm on my feet a lot), but I didn't get as swollen as I had been getting. Excersize tends to make you swell right after you workout so I was always sure to rest with my feet up as soon as I got home from my walks. I believe that the walks really helped speed up my recovery.

I was walking slowly thru the neighborhood within the first week. I was at the gym w/ my surgeons blessing at 3 weeks walking on the treadmill @ about 3.5 mph. That lasted about a wee****il I went back to work. That wore me out and the final drain started to hurt badly so I took off until 7 weeks out and then was back to the gym full out.
