I am curious about weight loss after LBL.  How many people lost weight after their LBL?  How much?  Did it effect your appearance?

I lost 9 pounds of skin but have stayed exactly the same weight-- damned if I know how I managed that!  Looks good though.

Good question.  I've wondered about that too, although I'm pretty sure my weight has stabilized, one never knows.  I would imagine, some of it would depend on your age, where you lose the weight and probably a few other factors.  It would be good to hear from someone who had it happen.

I went in to surgery at 126.5, initially went up due to fluids. Around the 3 week mark I weighed 122 but this morning I'm up to 124 so who knows? My PS said the skin he was going to remove would only weigh a couple of pounds since I had auto-augmentation of the butt where they reuse the underlying tissue. I know I really didn't want to eat anything for the first week and thought I had lost a bit from that. I guess it's still too early for me to know for sure where I'm going to end up (4 weeks post LBL).

Do you have any idea with the butt auto aug if you are going to lose clothing sizes?

I stayed about the same, clothes look better, but I'm wearing the same size.

Day of surgery I was 159. Just this morning I weighed 149. How much of it was from surgery (not a whole lotta skin to remove, but I also had lipo) and how much of it was from not being able to eat much post op (I had TT, and the muscles are SO TIGHT) I'm not sure.

I recently went shopping and purchased size 8 levi capris. Prior to surgery I was wearing mostly 12s; occasionally 10s.  As for tops, I was wearing mostly L, sometimes XL (I tended to like my stuff loose); now, I'm buying M 'cuz with my new boobs and tighter abdomen I'm not self conscious about the rolls!

You should plan to be at your ideal weight prior to PS; my plastic surgeon wanted me stable for 6 months pre-op.

Missy,
I think it's really dependant on your BMI and your body shape whether you are going to see a size change or not. My BMI is 21 and my PS said I had no fat left. I am pear shaped so my butt and thighs are bigger than my top. So far my waist and hips are the same size as before LBL and I'm wearing my presurgery clothes. But I DO have some swelling so maybe I'll see a one size change. The auto-aug didn't really make me any bigger back there, just firmer.

I went in at 210, removed 15lbs of skin and fat (not sure how much was injected BACK into me with my butt auto aug & breast) but I currently am 200.

I went from a tight 16 to my currently 12/14s but I have SERIOUS thighs and boody cause my waist is in the 12/10

I had about 5 lbs of skin removed (no lipo) but the scale said I lost about 2 lbs after the swelling and postop stuff was done (at about week 4 or 6...I don't remember).

Skin does not weigh much.....much less than we think.
