Yay, Laura! Remember- lots of squats ahead of time, up that protein pre and post op, and ask for an OnQ pain blocker for the abdomen - compared to the tummy, the breast pain was really minor ( though I did ice before the daily hour of boob massage, needed to prevent capsular scars which can lead to rock hard breasts - if I didn't ice it was pretty sore). Good luck! XOXOLori

Yes, I am an avid weight lifter and have been for 10 plus yrs.  My squat is 195 pounds so I won't have any trouble there.  My abs are already very visible as are quads and hamstrings. I lift very heavy 3 hours a week and do lots and lots of protein...although the restriction makes it difficult at times.  I'm just looking forward to getting rid of the skin.  It's really not too bad, but as hard as I've worked out and the money invested in personal trainers for all these years, I think I finally  deserve to see the fruits of my labor.  I'll definitely take your advice on the pain pump.

That's what I said, Missy- couldn't believe the flat tummy, it is astonishing to have one after NEVER experiencing that in 50 years! I assume you will be on the chopping block soon if you are lurking! So happy for your terrific weight loss results!!!! XOXOLori

Thanks.  I am going back and forth about how much to lose before doing it, but maybe I need to be just focusing on getting in the best shape.  I would out 5-6 days a week, run, work with a trainer, stuff like that.  I am getting there but I would love to be able to see muscle tone in my abdomen once it is fixed up.  I know you are SUPER dedicated, but whats your work out schedule like?

My arms are looking so much better as they get strong, but I carried so much weight there that I will need to get them done :(

But Lower body stuff comes first

Aloha Missy-
From what my surgeon preaches, if you are going for a circumferential lower body lift, you should be at a BMI less than 30, and at a stable weight for 6-9 months before going for plastics. He feels that there is far less tension on the circumferential incision if your body fat is lower ( less tugging from lower belly fat), and also stresses building as much muscle as possible so you can draw on those protein stores for rapifd healing.
I'd emphasize lots of squats, makes it tons easier to get up out of bed, off the toilet, out of the car, etc as your core is shot the first few days post op.
VERY Eexcited for you, and proff that you can lose this much and have a great outcome afterwards!
