Hi everyone,

I had GB March 5, 2008 and I've lost about 190 pounds.  I'm thrilled with the weight loss and my new body.  However, my breasts are in some serious need of help!  I wasn't 'perky' even when I was young and hadn't had children.  Now they are a sagging mess.

I am really considering having a lift and inplants but not sure about the pros and cons.  Not sure about what surgeon to go to....and really not sure about the price!!  I know my insurance won't cover it so it would be all out of pocket.

I'm in the Cincinnati area, has anyone gone to a surgeon here?

Any thoughts on how much it would be for both a lift and inplants?  I have NO mass left what so ever, so I know an inplant would be 100% necessary.

Silicone? Saline?

Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
Jen

Hey Jen,

I started the plastics research about a month or so ago.  Like you, mine will be self pay and thought I might want to begin with a local consult.

I found a local PS I had heard good things about and scheduled a consult.  Had to pay $75 but it was more than worth it...but I need more work than just my boobs!  One thing that was sort of difficult to find was a local PS with a fair amount of bariatric experience.

Now that I have an idea of the major overhaul needed, I had some pics taken (just wearing my painties) and have emailed them to docs in Mexico for recommendations and quotes...poor guys, they probably needed a drink after viewing!

I am sure there are others who have already completed the process and will chime in with more/better suggestions, just thought I would give you my thoughts.

Take care and your weight loss is fantastic.

Silcone/Saline is all dependant on what you want in the look of the breast.  I went with Saline, not exactly a natural look but they are fake so my thought was.. "I am 35 and want to enjoy my breasts for once so I really dont care if they look fake...." and I am very pleased with the results.  I think what is more important is that with your massive weight loss that you find a surgeon that will place the implant properly (so they dont bottom out from the already stretched skin, it can happen even with a lift).

Hard to say what mine cost because I had other procedures done with the BA/BL, but I know generally a lift with implants usually costs between 6000-8000.

I have not regreted them at all.  Best money I have ever spent on myself. Worth every cent.

Good Luck!!
