My surgery was April 29th....I was told pillows to elevate the back, under knees if it made me more comfortable...BUT NOT FLAT FOR A MONTH.  It  looks like every surgeon has a plan.  I have slept basically on both sides, with a quick flip.  Drains out today....so tummy, I am going to try.....

Just have a lot of pillows handy so you can adjust as needed.

I started with pillows behind my back and more under my knees like everyone else, then gradually reduced the number of pillows. I would find that some nights I'd end up on my side with a pillow betweend my legs, and after 3 weeks I woke one morning to me laying completely flat on my back. Still haven't tried sleeping on my belly (4 weeks posts LBL).

Thank you everyone for responding to my question. I have bought extra pillows, just in case. I guess we will see that the doctors recommendations are. Will be posting my before pic soon.

Dawn,
I stayed at the hospital for 3 nights and slept sitting up in the hospital bed.  Once I got to the hotel, I used every pillow available and made my own recliner in the bed.  That is how I slept for months.  A pillow under my knees and about 3 or 4 behind my back.  IT worked perfectly for me!

I just had my TT done on Thursday,20th. I was told to elevate back as well as legs for couple weeks. My understanding was to not lay flat due to muscle tightening that was done. l was also told  to walk bent over to keep stomach in postition as they called beach chair position.
