Is it normal to GAIN weight after panni surgery?

What does this have to do with anything and how is it helpful?

What is she supposed to say: sure, you're right, I think I'll run in next week and ask my doctor to CHANGE MY SURGERY since I've experienced a weight gain after plastics which is COMPLETELY NORMAL due to swelling, etc.?

To the OP and others experiencing weight gain immediately post op TT, panni, etc: IT IS NORMAL. Again, IT IS NORMAL!!

I don't think you need to run for a DS revision JUST YET!

The OP lives on the Ontario board and has posted conflicting posts in the past - some weeks she's gained, some weeks she's lost 40lbs, crazy stuff.  When she's gained, a familar post is to lament that she didn't get the DS.  At the same time that she posts YouTube videos describing her eating bags of chips, donuts, 100calorie packs by the boxful, etc. etc.

Now that she has had plastics, I'm sure you'll see lots of posts on here - and soon she'll probably start acting unpredictably and insulting some of you as well.  Watch for it ;0)

SO, the DS comment was kind of an inside joke I think.  Just saying - cause I don't ever usually respond to the OP.  That's mostly what she's looking for....

Gotcha! But still, maybe some warning like "tongue in cheek" (TIC) or "bi-boardal joke" or SOMETHING.....

It seemed a very odd response without context.

Yup - on the Ontario board that comment would have gotten a lot of laughs without any context.  Sometimes it's hard to remember which board you're on! lol

See Bonnies comment below - there's the context you're looking for.

I bet a lot of the wait gain you are experiencing is swelling. You are still fairly early out and swelling is expected for several weeks to a few months. Just keep eating healthy and walk when you feel up to it. As long as you are doing all the right things, you should be okay.

We stalk you??  We are on the plastics board because we want to be here, because it's almost our time.  But these people don't know you, we do.   If they check your past posts or your youtube account, they will see many posts of you eating junk food for days, or one day having 5 pounds til goal, the next 15 pounds below goal, and three days later you are 20 lbs from goal.  Then they go on and on about your surgery being a failure, and then it's not, then it is, and how you should have had a ds, because that would solve all your problems.....  it goes on and on.

My surgeon said stay off the scale for 3 weeks.  He said you may go home and stay heavier than you were before the surgery.  I think I'll take his advice.
