I am sorry for your pain.  I am 2 weeks post-op panni, today.  I have been off pain meds since Sunday.  I still have both drains in because of too much drainage, but hope to have them out on Tuesday.  I would suggest to let the cleaning go....do the bare necessity for the cats.  I am a single woman and alone, too.  I think now is the time to put ourselves first.  Maybe you have a friend who could come and help.  Now would be the ideal time for a friend to do the things you can't.  If you find that too difficult to ask...stick with what you can do...tomorrow tackle something else.  GOOD LUCK.  KEEP THE FAITH.  FIND SOMETHING POSITIVE TO HANG ON TO TODAY...and look for more tomorrow.  Blessings,

I had mine last monday the 3rd adn I am bruised, but really no pain at all since about the 3rd day.  I was routinly taking a pecoset every 4 hours but then about sunday I stopped.  In fact, on drain was out monday adn the other will be comming out tomorrow. My incisions are all closed too...right away in fact...they used inside stitches and that surgery glue on the outside. I hung curtains today, walked my daughter  across the street to karate ...adn I still ahve 4 weeks left of my MLOA!!  I actually posted on facebook today to my friends that I am so bored I don;t know what to do with myself.  I'm so sorry that you are having such a tough time.  My RNY was tough on me and I thought this would be worse since they literally fileted me!  I would call your surgeon...have you been on an antibiotic?  I have been on keflex 3x a day since surgery and still ahve about 4 more days of it.  Maybe you have  an infection somewhere?  Keep us posted and feel free to chat with me !  Monica

Everyone is different, but I had very little pain other than at the  very ends of the incisions but a couple of weeks out.  Continuing "extreme" pain does not sound "normal" for a panni (where no muscle was cut).  Have you talked to your surgeon about your pain level?

i have been so out of it. sorry guys. i had my panni on may 03rd. i had my drains taken out no more then 24 hours after surgery. i stayed in the hospital for 2 days. i have been up and cleaning and looking after my pets, walking around lots, walked to the store, went to the mall 2 days in a row. i seen my surgeon yesterday. got the suran like wrap off and my surgeon said it is all closed. and that i can wear my binder when i feel the need. i had it off for a lil while twice. then yesterday i had it off for most of the day. my surgeon said it looked good. nothing wrong. for the last 27 hours i have been in extreme pain. it is tight, itchy, burning and hurts like a mofo....esp on the sides. my tummy is so swollen and i keep eatting to ease the pain. so on top of everything else, my tummy is so bloated and full. i bet i have gain 10 pounds from eatting so much :'(....i have my binder o right now...it is so hard to sit...it hurts so bad :'(...hard to lay in my bed....i never sleep hardly :'(

I will say, now that I read your 2nd post, that I do have an uncomfortable feeling on my left side...not pain really, but sore and the incision is itching quite badly...but that means it is healing......but I would like to jump out of my skin.

Sounds to me like the drains may have been taken out too early.  It sounds like you're having a lot of fluid build up and your body isn't absorbing it fast enough.

BUT - wear the binder - ALL THE TIME.  That helps.  Did you get a compression garment too?

I had a full TT, vertical cut too, and didn't have extreme pain.  Yes, I had occasional "stabs" when it was healing, and it was itchy sometimes, but not intense pain.  Standing upstill is sore at times, but not painful by any means (the stretching).

You may have an infection too.  Talk to your Dr - intense pain is NOT normal.  Soreness is...
