did you have the fat injections or  fat grafting? How did it work for you?

3 weeks from today is my ps! Nervous, excited...there aren't enough adjectives to describe how I'm feeling right now. Whew- will be so glad to have it done!

Fat injections and fat grafting are the same thing. I had the butt auto augmentation where the tissue from the very bottom of your back is flipped over as opposed to cut out when doing the LBL which adds fullness. The other benefit of doing this is that you don't have to worry about the fat being reabsorbed which is what happens when you do the fat injections. I can't remember the percentage that gets absorbed but it varies and can be as high as 60%. I also had some fat grafting with my auto augmentation to give it even more shape. I'm not big by any means but I probably would have been super flat without it. I'm so glad I did it!

Good luck with your surgery!

I had the same as Melissa.....auto augmentation.

I heard from a number of surgeons (and I read a lot on the internet) with the fat injections the results can be somewhat uneven or dimpled (fat moves and could stick one place rather than other), plus the body may some how reabsorb the fat.  I wanted something that would be more permanent so I did the butt flap auto augmentation.

Being nervous is normal....happens before every procedure but I'm sure you'll do fine.  Enjoy the ride....it's a wild one!

The PS that I go to did not do the fat injections at the time.  There were not really great results that lasted a long time.  I could not do the other type of "bum" augmentation either.  My bum was as flat as Kansas.  I had the implants and I love them (now).  I actually have a bum that my pants fit on and won't fall off.  I did have a long recovery but I had had a TT w/MR about 3 weeks before the "Bum" Lift and Implants.  Good luck to you and Happy Healing!!

I had a LBL with buttock auto-augmentation utilizing flap grafts almost 4 years ago ( I was one of the first people on this board to have that procedure at the time).  It worked very well.  Still a little more "SharLo" than I want, but no issues with major reabsorption, which usually happens with the injections.  The flap grafts maintain a blood supply.  Much more comfortable sitting than ever before!
