Im 2 1/2 years out, ive lost 246lbs and im down to 160. The rest of the weight is just skin that needs to be removed. I got a few consulations from plastic surgeons, all of which told me, exercise at this point is irrelevant...

So now what do i do? Im unemployed, collecting, no insurance. and oh boy its going to be a hot summer... I have to wear spank, a shirt, and a jacket to cover up the arms, which right now is my biggest concern. ITS HOT!!!

:/ Anyone know anything i can do... so lost???
It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else's eyes.

Well, without insurance that will cover plastic surgery the only other option is self pay. Many of us did not have insurance that covered plastics so we had to foot the bill ourselves. There are residency programs that offer reduced rates. There have been a couple recent threads on that just down the page a bit.

My arms were my biggest concern, too so I had them done after losing 130 pounds & getting to goal...and am SO VERY GLAD I did!! Insurance did NOT pay for them, but it was well worth the $$...good luck to you...congrats on your excellent weight loss!!

First off, congrats on your tremendous weight loss!  You must be feeling like a whole new person every day, even after 2 1/2 years!

Unfortunately, my advice for how to handle the plastic surgery with no job or insurance isn't what you may want to hear.  You may just have to do what many of the rest of us have done......wait and save up.  Insurance doesn't cover it for the majority of us, I imagine.  And if you don't have a job, I would think that you have bigger priorities right now than plastic surgery, no matter how uncomfortable you may be with the excess skin.  My opinion....keep looking for a job, and when you get one, save, save, save....so you can afford the plastic surgery you want.  And for this summer, make sure the job you find is indoors, and get you a good desk fan  .

Good luck!
