Inner Thighplasty update......
6 weeks Post Op: WOW I’m not sure if I feel time as flown by or if it’s dragging. Incisions are all healing really really well. I’m still struggling with some swelling…not as bad as some folks I’ve seen but still uncomfortable and keeping me from doing things I want to do. The last 2 weeks have been tough. I finally decided to stop all exercise for a couple weeks. Why I decided to jump back into cardio walking at week 3 is beyond me since I just had my legs cut stem to stern. After my TT and LBL I waited much longer so why in the world did I think it was a good idea to do it now? WHO KNOWS but I finally woke up and stopped. I talked to my Surgeon about it a few days ago when I went for my office visit. He said I should exercising again…he wants the leg muscles and lymph system to get moving so it can do what it has to do. He said I will swell but just need to let my body work through it. Not excited about this but I’ll do what I’ve gotta do. Last week I was out on Monday, no compression on because we were only going to be gone for a short time….well it turned into 7 or 8 hrs and I was dying by the time we got home. It took 6 days being in compression pantyhose 24 hrs a day until I could see my ankle bones again!!! I finally feel some relief in my calves and feet today. Last week I finally found someone who is certified to do lymphatic massage…I’m going Tuesday morning for my first session. Wouldn’t it be funny if now the swelling problem is resolving itself, now that I finally found someone who does this. LOL. Even if I have very little swelling tomorrow after my bike ride I will still go on Tuesday because I don’t think it could hurt…it can only help. This morning (Sunday) I went for my first bike ride since last Nov (before my LBL). I was so excited to finally get to ride again….I love bike riding. Had a bit of head wind but it was nice to be out there riding. MAN I’m out of shape with it……I could not get up to my full speed and no way I ride my normal distance (15-20 miles). I was huffing and puffing and stopped at 5 miles (35 mins)…I stopped not because I was too tired but (a) I didn’t want to over do it first day out and (b) the incisions in the groin were starting to bother me and I didn’t want to do damage. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to go faster and longer….even an extra 5 -10 mins would be good. Summary – I LOVE the way my Arms came out. So thin and tight….and the incision placement seems perfect from what I can tell. I’m happy with my legs, they look so much better. There is some saggy skin in the back upper thighs (under my butt) which bunches up into a large lump if I have my compression stockings on (which is why I don’t wear them out when I quickly run to the grocery store or drug store). Anyhow, I’m trying different panty liner type things to see if they will just smooth it out a little for under dresses or pants. I discussed it with my surgeon and he has a plan to fix it…so this means one more procedure for me. I’ll have all my minor touch ups done at the same time (you know, the little dog ears, wrinkles at the end of an incision line, etc etc). I have to decide if I want it done before or after my winter cruise….I’m torn….I’d love to be all done but I don’t want to have surgery again in July…I really would like to be able to enjoy this summer and use my pool, etc….so I’ll probably have it done in mid Sept or late Nov. I don’t know yet…. While I like my legs, I’m not loving my legs but I am realistic…they are a million times better but do need another cut along the back to fix the back thighs and a little more “lift" in the front so I see a revision coming there too. Hey, I always carried most of my weight in my legs and butt so it’s no wonder to me that it will take a little extra work to get them were I want them. Pictures from 4 weeks post op are posted…….Friends can see them. FYI – my upper/lower Bleph and facelift is now 3 months post-op and healing beautifully!! I’m thrilled with the results!! Going to treat myself to some permanent make-up (only eye liner). Best news for me last week was that I no-longer have to pack the wound on my butt cheek and I can take a bath and go in my swimming pool (my pool, I’m not going to a public pool)
Hope everyone is healing nicely.
Best wishes to everyone who has a procedure coming up. Remember to get lots of rest and plenty of protein to help you heal!!

Hi Ruth, it's so helpful to read your progress reports - the good, the bad and the ugly although I wish you only had good news with your healing. It's amazing to see your before and after pictures - they give me hope that I can eventually look normal too. Thanks for posting and take good care of yourself.
Hi Ruth,
I'm going to send a Friend request - I see a thigh lift in my future - even before my arms. Like you, I've always carried my wt in my butt & legs.
Thank you for sharing!

Send me a friends request and I'll accept it in the morning.
I'll post about my lymph massage on Tuesday after my appointment. :-)
I'm calling my insurance company tomorrow but I believe they will reimburse me.

Howdy Moosie - thanks for friending me. Your before and afters are pretty amazing. I carried most of my "junk" in my "trunk" as well - I hope I end up with the skinny legs/hips you have!!
Just to let you know, for me anyway - your plastics pics aren't showing. Your other albums are all there - but those ones are empty. I was eager to see these long incisions - why that choice? Just wondering why you'd need one over the other.
Thanks!
