Is this quote for a TT and lift outrageous?!

Hi Kristen,

I had an LBL and BL here in MD by a preeminent surgeon.  His fee was $12,500 and the hospital was $5,200.  The fee included "lifetime care" about which you spoke, along with any revisions I  might seek for a year.  I agree with other posters:  even for Boston, I think it is extremely over-priced.

It's not how fast you go, but that you're moving in the right direction!

That is high for here. I would have paid $13000+ for a lift lipo and large TT.

This seems extremely high to me.  With the difference you could throw in arms and thighs!

abdominoplasty w muscle tightening
inner thigh lift

brachioplasty (arms)
blepharoplasty(eyes)

that includes PS, Anesthesia & hospital all done in 5 different surgeries

I think it partly matters what part of the country you are in. Boston is a rather large city so prices will probably be higher. That being said I do think that is high. I paid about $4,000 less for everything I've had done and that's an LBL, Brachio, BL/BA & MTL.

My first round was about that much (that does include the OR and anesthesthia right?)  For that price I got my lower body lift, upper body lift, butt lift & auto augmentation and breast lift and lipo.

it seems very expensive.  i had a LBL, lipo of flanks and hernia repair for $5500.  I paid for everything except for the hernia repair.  i had this done three years ago at a Medford Hospital.  I then had a breast lift, inner thight lift and revision of outer thigh lift two years ago at beth Iseral Deconess hospital for around 15,000.  i am sure prices have gone up some.

Most of us who have surgery have all the post op visits and aftercare plus FREE revisions included. That should be standard whether you are paying 5K or 35K. TTs don't take nearly as long as LBLs because there is no flipping you over and I think $27K is expensive even if it did include a LBL. I'd go on more consults if that were me.

And I thought the first PS I went to had a high quote! His quote was 5200 for TT, 10,200 for LBL, and BL/BA was 8000, 9000 if I wanted silicone implants.
I think I'd shop around more .
That's what I'm doing not because of the prices but for a more experienced post WL PS.

I'm also in the Boston area and that does sound high.
My quotes weren't for the same procedures but to give you an idea:

$15050 for lower body lift at Newton Wellesley
$13900 for arm and breast lift (no aug) in office.

Best of luck with your surgery and keep us posted.  It might be worth getting a quote from another surgeon to see if it is in line.  If it is not, then maybe yours will match the price.

My arm and breast lift is on Weds...yikes!
